Popular Post snoop1130 Posted Wednesday at 09:37 AM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 09:37 AM Photo via Facebook/ Phuket Times ภูเก็ตไทม์ An alarming incident unfolded on April 4 near Phuket's popular Rang Hill, involving an allegedly drunk foreigner and a local Thai man. The Thai victim, who managed to escape unharmed, shared videos with the Phuket Times on April 9, revealing the chaotic scene. According to the victim, the foreign man, reeking of alcohol, caused a commotion by wandering into houses and yelling incoherently. When approached by the Thai man, intending to calm the situation, the foreigner lashed out, chasing him down the road. Fortunately, the foreigner stumbled, allowing the victim to evade potential harm. CCTV footage captured the staggering pursuit and the foreigner's bizarre behaviour, including shadow boxing and making offensive gestures. The videos, quickly spreading on social media, sparked criticism of local police for their absence during such disturbances. Netizens called out a perceived indifference from law enforcement and pointed fingers at the government's free-visa policy, which they argue has led to increased foreign misconduct. Some locals expressed concerns about foreigners' lack of fear of repercussions, suggesting fines are seen merely as inconveniences. Photo via Facebook/ Phuket Times ภูเก็ตไทม์ This incident follows another altercation on April 6, where a foreigner reportedly assaulted two Thai motorists after a traffic dispute, further fueling local resentment and urgency for stronger law enforcement. As Phuket's community grapples with these events, the need for proactive measures to address and prevent such behaviour becomes ever more apparent, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-04-09 7 15

I visit this forum pretty much daily and there is always some disturbance, accident or assault news in Phuket. Place is a hub of idiocy. I'm really surprised. The more adventurous among us should count and categorize all the news that "The Tiger" reports out of Phuket. Is it just that Phuket has better coverage? Pattaya is surely home to more disturbed punters making all manner of daily trouble yet Phuket get's all the reports it seems. 2 1 1

This guy clearly has mental health issues. This is not an "unruly farang" problem, these people are going nuts. Why are there so many, all of a sudden? It didn't use to be like that (I don't buy the "it wasn't reported before" explanations). 2 1 2

Some Pattaya punter shot himself in the head playing solo "Russian Roulet" while high and drunk. 4 3 4 1 4 5

Possibly… though I did frequent Amsterdam (where the weed is very potent too) a lot in my younger years and I don't recall such incidents occurring. Maybe the heat is also a contributing factor… 1 1 2 2

Yes, definitely. Come to Thailand, no money, unemployed, uneducated losers. The DTA visa is a big mistake but the visa free 60/90 days as well. Thailand, the hub of riffraff, predominantly farangs. 1 1 1 2 1 2

Consider that phuket is a free for all like the old west in movies. A 10k baht fine is nothing. Let's up the fines so they hurt 30 40 k start with charges and blacklist in passport so other countries can see. Imagine being Canadian and stuck choosing Dominican Republic or staying in Canada while your friends are travelling to different countries 1 2

I reckon the people who live in Phuket, just like me I live in Pattaya, don't recognise what they read on here. They are isolated incidents, the like of which happen all over the planet. I've said it on here several times, when I lived and worked in Scarborough UK, it was like a war zone late evening on a weekend. I experience nothing like that when I go for a night out in Pattaya. 1 2 5

Popular Post pomchop Posted Thursday at 02:19 AM Popular Post Posted Thursday at 02:19 AM So everybody has a phone everywhere everyday now. You can take pics or videos galore and send them off to a media outlet or post them on social media with the click of a button. There are bloggers galore desperate for more graphic content to get more clicks for $$. So surprise surprise we all see and hear about almost every weirdo event worthy of a click or two within minutes and many of us then repost it and the next thing you know it looks like WW3. And sadly many of us do click on the weirdo stories more than we click on a story of "28 y.o. Brit comes to Thailand has fun and goes home"....Sensationalism sells. Ordinary nothing to see here does not. Yes indeed there are a lot of weirdos and freaks and idiots who love to get violent. Yes there are a lot of idiots who drink too much do too many drugs etc. Do these idiots behave themselves back home and only turn into complete morons because they got 60 days on arrival in Thailand instead of 30 days? Are there really exponentially more of them now or do we just constantly get bombarded by social media and reports whereas pre camera phone/internet days most weird stuff was rarely photoed or video and it was a big hassle to call or send via mail to any media outlet? Certainly cameras and posts of weridos are not limited to Thailand but most everywhere in the world. Maybe there are indeed more incidents and more "special people" idiot visitors but not sure it is all some massive new thing that is caused by a change from 30 to 60 days visa stay or legal pot or hot weather. 1 1 2

Actually I haven't suffered at all, what foreigners get up to in Thailand has no effect on my life in Thailand, my Thai friends, family etc are not concerned 'netizans', they don't give a stuff about what goes on these tourist areas, they are more concerned with putting food on the table and trying to earn a living. 2 1
