Entered Vietnam yesterday for a 2 week holiday. 45day visa waiver yes. Did not fill in any forms either paper or digital. Just gave the grumpy bugger my passport and he stamped it and threw it back to me (and everyone else same too so at least I wasn't singled out).

Which countrty are you from ?

45-day visa exemption is granted to citizens of 13 countries: South Korea, Japan, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Belarus

So it's obviously one of those countries..so why ask.

The requirement is 3 days or less.  You can do it one minute before checking in for your flight if you want.

I suspect that the real requirement is that it must be submitted not more than 3 days before arrival (same as Singapore, which includes a health declaration, so the 3-day maximum makes sense).

I'm leaving my next trip for at least a month after this starts so they can iron out all the glitches.

The "health declaration" is only relevant if you have travelled recently to Yellow Fever countries.  Hardly a reason to postpone travel plans if you have not.

Yes.  Seems like Laos are going to do the same.  No doubt it will be standard in many countries soon.  Better than paper card and pens, surely?

It does beat paper cards.  It works well in Singapore.   I hope it works as well in Thailand.

Of course they will let you board....The TDAC is not a visa and has no requirements to be met to enter Thailand......100% zero requirements.......The TDAC only collects traveler data.....Same as the old TM6.......Nothing more...

And «  health records » ??? Health records are private . Why do they need those ? A health or travel insurance I can  understand .

I predict 1/2 the current tourists will just go to Vietnam instead!

They also have digital arrival, but you can fill it in after you land.

Brits get 45 days visa waiver on arrival.

And it's a better destination for most tourists.

Alternatively ...... flip ...... flop .......

What about if your reentering on a 12 month visa?

I think it's supposed to be for statistics, just as the previous TM6 was.  It's the same thing, just digitised.

It doesn't track 'movements' just arrival information.

Re entry permit

New arrival card

TM30

90 days report

What's next? Blood?

Nothing has changed except the arrival is now digital instead of a card.

Whats next is the continual moaning, if it is that bothersome dont <deleted> visit.

I wonder what will happen if the visit to Thailand is an emergency and within the three days?

Agree. This requirement does not consider emergency, or short notice, travel needs.

Bring back TM6.

Why not?  Even in an emergency it shouldn't be a problem completing the form while waiting for the flight?  It takes less than 5 minutes to fill in the information!  It's just a digital TM6!

Yes.  The form can only be completed 3 days before entry, not before then.  It can then be completed at any time during that period, including in the Arrivals hall at Bangkok airport!

I'd hate to be flying into Swampy or DM on May 1,2,3. It's gonna be pandemonium, not everybody lives online and has heard about the TDAC, plus there are all those Chinese, Koreans, Russians and so forth who can't read or write English, so it stands to reason they'll be thousands of such arrivals who haven't done their TDAC online and not knowing what's going on and what to do. How can the Thais have sufficient numbers of staff ready to assist all these incoming travelers? Any AN members planning on flying in early May make sure you have this damn thing done online so you can get outta the airports fast. It's going to be fun seeing the vids people will post online of their arrivals in Thailand around May 1,2,3.

you can fill it in online while you're sitting in the departure lounge waiting for your flight. At the present time you don't have to fill it in ahead of time at all, you can wait until you arrive and do it then, but I suspect that'll mean waiting in line with about ten thousand Chinese arrivals, so best do it online before arriving.

May 1,2,3, why those dates?

Many years ago it took me 2 hours to get through immigration at Swampy.

Fastest ever was at D M, earlier 2,000's, plane to taxi in 11 minutes!

May 1,2,3, why thise dates.

Because they are the earliest dates, it starts May 1, so the biggest issues will happen on those first few days, after May 3 or 4 they might well dump the whole idea, or at least solve some of the initial problems.
