Anybody here diagnosed with Otosclerosis, surgery or hearing aids?

Featured Replies

Which one did you choose to proceed with?

If surgery (stapedectomy) How long ago did you have it and what are you thoughts on the procedure in hindsight?

I have read that this procedure can be good initially if the operation is successful (varying figures in success rates).
However the effectiveness can often diminish over time and a hearing aid can be the final outcome anyway.

Ive only very recently been diagnosed with Otosclerosis so Im trying to do some homework as to what to ask the ENT at my next appointment.
Im learning towards a Hearing aid, as there seems to be very discreet ones available nowadays but again alot of options out there that need researching.
