I would have expected more voices in her defense from those saying, "It's a man- and it is not against the law for men to show their breasts."

Actually, I expect crickets.

The first incident, at Bangsaen Beach in Chon Buri, features a well-known local influencer in revealing attire, prompting a social media storm. Videos from April 13 and 14 show her dancing in minimal clothing: a white bikini with a pink lace dress, then a more daring black bikini bottom with only nipple covers.

And what can be seen on any walking street on a daily basis goes without comment.

Songkran celebrations in Bangsaen and Nakhon Ratchasima have drawn fire online, as Thai authorities investigate viral clips of scantily-clad performances that some claim cross the line of decency. Police are considering pressing indecency charges after two incidents went viral.

These clips split viewers, with comments ranging from admiration for her confidence to concerns about setting the wrong example for young onlookers. “She’s stunning and confident,” some commenters said. Others questioned, “Why does she have to show so much?”

Meanwhile, a separate incident in Nakhon Ratchasima involved a transgender dancer going topless, similarly sparking negative reactions online. Both incidents have led Saen Suk Police to investigate potential breaches of public obscenity laws.

As police review the footage, the influencer, known for her cosmetic sales on social media, might face legal challenges that transcend her usual online notoriety. This controversy has sparked a wider debate on cultural and legal boundaries during festive celebrations in Thailand, reported The Thaiger.

Those complaining are really just jealous the ladyboy has bigger boobs than them. AS for as i know it there is no law preventing a man from showing his boobs (fake or real). There is however a law I learned about recently for men who do not wear underwear haha...

Songkran is the perfect time for the cultured people to get bombed and make complete dick heads of them selves. In most cases it's just showing off. So if people were to ignore  them they would go away. There's nothing worse for a show off when they are totally ignored. I must admit in my bar hopping days there were ladies with their morals loosened by alcohol everywhere for the taking. The good old days.

This country kills me. They have a festival where people are almost encouraged to get wasted, and then when people do things like this when wasted, there's an "outrage."

How do you want it?

Look at all the articles in Asean.  Every one is about the calamity that is Songkran.

What a complete <deleted>show.  Way to go Thailand, you've really outdone yourself  this time.

I dunno.  Not my cup of tea, all this celebrating, but it feels to me that 99.9% of Songkran is massively enjoyable to all involved, with the odd dodgy bit (I don't mean the ladyboy and his dodgy boobs).  I hope the tiny minority haven't ruined it for the vast majority, but I doubt what seems like a lot of negative stories is really indicative of reality?

Exactly!! whenever I read about indecency displays in public outings or drunkenness gone bad, I have to LOL and shake my head. Thailand, you have made countless millions in the last half century on these daily acts you seemed to frown upon! the hypocrisy is astounding coming from a country where Soi 6 and Soi Cowboy are national institutions!
