Popular Post Social Media Posted April 19 Popular Post Posted April 19 Biden's Surprise Visit to Harvard Marred by Protests, Gaffes, and Ice Cream Slip Former President Joe Biden’s attempt to quietly visit Harvard University turned into anything but a discreet affair, drawing protests, controversy, and media scrutiny. What was meant to be a low-key event at the prestigious Ivy League school quickly unraveled into a public spectacle as students protested, Biden stumbled over key geopolitical facts, and even dropped his ice cream on the floor. The 82-year-old president appeared at Harvard’s Kennedy School to speak with a group of roughly 50 students as part of an event reportedly planned weeks in advance. The visit was organized with an air of secrecy, with students only told they were invited to hear from a “special guest.” However, the element of surprise was swiftly undercut, both by circumstances on campus and by Biden’s own performance. Outside the venue, a dozen pro-Palestinian protesters from a group called Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine made their presence felt. Armed with drums, bells, and loud chants, they disrupted the quiet atmosphere the organizers had hoped for. The protesters shouted, “Biden, Biden, you can’t hide. You’re committing genocide,” making it impossible to ignore the growing tensions on campus surrounding U.S. policy in the Middle East. The backdrop to Biden’s visit added to the tension. Harvard is currently under pressure from the Trump administration, which has frozen $2.2 billion in funding and is threatening the university’s tax-exempt status. In a broader push to address what it calls rising antisemitism on campus, the administration has demanded that Harvard abandon DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) policies, identify activist groups, and accept an independent audit of its academic standards. So far, the university has not agreed to these terms. Biden’s visit was not without its moments of controversy. During his speech, he reportedly confused Ukraine with Iraq while discussing the ongoing war with Russia. His long-time adviser and now Harvard resident fellow Mike Donilon had to step in to correct him. The incident echoed the kind of missteps that plagued Biden’s presidential campaign and ultimately contributed to his decision to bow out of the re-election race following a disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump. Adding to the awkwardness, Biden dropped a melting ice cream bar on the floor after biting into it, according to the Harvard Crimson. While seemingly trivial, the moment was symbolic of the general tone of the visit—an attempt at connection that ended up making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Despite the distractions, Biden praised the university in his remarks to students, saying, “Harvard stepped up in a way no one else has. You should be really thankful.” His comments likely referred to the university’s role in national discourse and possibly its handling of complex political issues, though neither Harvard officials nor Biden’s spokesperson provided further comment about the event. What was intended as a quiet, inspiring appearance ended up drawing unwanted attention—underscoring once again how the spotlight never strays far from the aging former president, even when the event is meant to fly under the radar. Popular Post bkk6060 Posted April 19 Popular Post Posted April 19 The Dems are probably investing big in Pharm companies to invent a pill to cure senility. Biden 2028! 1 5
Popular Post connda Posted April 19 Popular Post Posted April 19 The idiot doesn't know how to gracefully leave the scene. The doddering fool is a narcissist who will continue to make a fool out of himself until the day he dies. The post-presidential lecture scene is simply the way that corporations and universities reward a president for favors he did when in office. I understand that Biden wants 300K per "talk" and transport on a private jet. They can be legally rewarded with speaking fee from 250K to 500K for an hour speech. Then you wonder why these charlatans are multi-millionaires. And where does Harvard get the money to splurge on speaking fee? Private donors at the moment for Harvard, but if those taxpayer funds where available, they'd just be funnel the government largess right back into the former president's pocket. Hell of a game, 'eh? 3 2 1 1 1

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted April 19 Popular Post Posted April 19 Biden should simply just retire and write off into the sunset he's a very old man and he has no place representing the Democratic party at this point. Having said that Trump is also a very old man, is at least semi senile, and is quite insane and extremely dangerous. He has no business being president and I think quite a few of the people who elected him are starting to understand that he is the polar opposite of the man that he represented himself to be during the campaign. Modern day politics needs youth and it needs a forward-looking vision, totally unlike anything that Biden or Trump are capable of offering. 2 1 3

Trump is offering youth and forward looking vision in JD Vance and Marco Rubio. The Dems are still offering nothing in comparison 1 1 2

The Dems are still offering nothing in comparison Well I certainly agree with you that he's offering youth in those two fools, but certainly not offering any vision, nor any sort of quality leadership. Both of them have made absolute fools of themselves in the last 3 months and it looks as if the ignorance will just continue. Vance in particular is just an absolute abomination of a human being, he feels like an artifice, almost someone who is created by AI. 1 1 1
CallumWK Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Seriously Biden should stay out of the limelight, because he does more damage than good to the Democratic Party whenever he shows up.
rough diamond Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Biden is no longer relevant in the political scene so why bring him back into todays politics. Let the old man fade away in peace with the other old man Trump following him into exile! 1
