As each individual, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, has the right to request male or female doctors, shouldn't everyone have the choice of which gender strip searches them?

So a male who is accused of raping a women could request he is strip searched by a female?  You didn't really think this through did you?

  • Trans women are men.   Trans men are women.    Hope that clarifies the situation that you are trying to complicate.

  • A rare vote for common sense. Men using sexual orientation to cheat at sports and obtain an unjust legal advantage is over.  This legislation is long overdue and most welcome.

The article is regarding BTP. Strip searches are only carried out to protect the accused from harm.

Obviously, in extreme cases, procedures would need to be followed in best interest of all concerned.

Strip searches are also carried out by more that one officer.

There is also a policy at BTP that males with gender recognition certificates can strip search a female suspect.

Not any more 🙂

There seems to be a lot of confusion over what this is!

1. The Equality Act 2010 tells organisation when they can discriminate and when they can't, according to specific protected characteristics.

2. The Supreme Court ruled that the protected characteristic of 'sex' refers to 'biological sex', otherwise it would lead to contradictions in law.

3. Trans people are still protected against discrimination under the protected characteristic of 'gender reassignment'.

Dangler: Male cop

No Dangler: Female Cop

Although I am not TRANS...

STILL, I prefer to be searched by females.

Always have....

Presumably most of them would be quite pleased by this development.

If they were born with a penis no problem. If they've had it chopped of still no problem they born a male no problem. Common sense at last.

How do they know that they're trans women until they strip search them? Are they required to verify their GRC or get a copy of their birth certificate before they determine who should strip search them?

Also, and I ask this in all these reports of how to treat trans women, what about trans men? Who searches them?

Look for the usual signs as they do on Beach Road in Pattaya.
