What point would that be? The earth is flat?

I do appreciate the real-time illustration of my point, it is very helpful.

More conspiracy theories are not at all.   They are truths denied by authorities, to stop us becoming intrigued; and then investigating further.

For shooting tall buildings from the ground, a Tilt-Shift Lens (TS-E or PC lens) is the best specialized tool, allowing you to keep the camera level and shift the lens upward to prevent vertical lines from converging (leaning inwards), keeping them straight and natural.

This is why you can't trust photographs... because light can so easily be bent by design or by not caring about correct details in every case.  Without ALL the details involved in making the photo you question... you have no case.

It is video footage, gamb00ler. Look from the 5:00 mark in the video.

There seems to be no limit to the depth of your ignorance.  I have a simple question.... what lies between the recording sensor or material and the object you want to see in the photo or movie?  Is it capable of bending light?

What illustration would that be?

I think most posters proposing that the earth is flat are either mentally deficient or suffering from dementia.

A sad state of affairs. In pre social media days they would have been described and accepted as silly old buggers. Unfortunately, these days, they can spread their particular delusions far and wide. And many of said silly old buggers can provide a positive feedback loop to their delusions.

I've heard about gravity. But. if we were upside down, would it still work?  And would we not be aware that we were upside down?

Why can't you fly direct from Cape Horn to Cape of Good Hope?

Gravity works in all directions. Glad you have heard of it. Keep your mind open and you may realise the earth is a globe.

Galileo realised this in the sixteenth century when he observed a ship slowly appearing over the horizon, mast first and the then body of the ship later.

He was a smart guy, unlike some posters.

@rattlesnake.. what is it that can bend light but has no mass, cannot be seen, heard, touched, smelled or tasted?

I don't know, but did you hear about the flat earther that dies and goes to heaven?

A flat-earther dies and goes to heaven. He arrives in heaven and is met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates. “You’ve lived your life free from sin and because of this, we welcome you into heaven my child.” Says Saint Peter.

The flat-Earther breathes a sigh of relief and starts to make his way through the gates of heaven. Before he is about to enter he turns to Saint Peter and asks, “I’ve got to know, is the earth flat or round?” Saint Peter laughs and responds, “It’s round I’m afraid my child”

A look of shock comes over the flat-earthers face, then the look of realisation.

“Huh, I see.” says the flat-earther. “This conspiracy goes higher than I thought.”

A bit like magnetism then Sir? Why don't the people fall out of the boat when it gets to the other side of the earth?

Nothing like magnetism.

People don't fall out of boats or aircraft in case you haven't noticed.

It's quite easy to understand unless you are stupid.

What would attract them away from the planet???

The Earth was first described as a globe by ancient Greek philosophers around the 5th to 4th centuries BCE, with Pythagoras, Empedocles, Anaxagoras, Plato, and Aristotle all contributing to the concept, using evidence like lunar eclipses and ships disappearing hull-first over the horizon. This idea became established in Hellenistic astronomy by the 3rd century BCE, with Eratosthenes even calculating its circumference, marking a shift from flat-Earth beliefs – it has never been disproved but has been confirmed and built on – except by you, who seem to think you know better than the sum total of several millennia of human knowledge and computation.

Believe me there have been a lot of people who were considerably cleverer than you in the past and even now. It takes a fool not to listen.

So where do you think the source of "gravity" is?

It comes down to the photo lens how much the earth will curve in pictures.

So

So where is your source of "gravity"?

Well, what is gravity if we are only electrons of visually matters?

everything around us—you, me, chairs, stars—is made of atoms, which are themselves composed of protons, neutrons (in the nucleus), and orbiting electrons, making electrons a key constituent of all visible matter, though they never truly "touch" due to electromagnetic repulsion, creating the sensation of solidity. It's a profound quantum idea that our perceived touch is really the force of electrons pushing against each other, never merging, says Quora and Khan Academy.

If we're just electrons making up matter, gravity isn't a simple "pull" but arises from how massive concentrations of these particles (and energy/momentum) warp

spacetimeitself, creating curves that other particles, including photons, follow, making it seem like a force; it's the geometry of the universe, not just particle interactions, though some theories explore links between gravity, electromagnetism, and particle spin

On a flat earth, there is no gravity.

There is density.

A helium balloon rises because helium is less dense than the air.

Or maybe you believe the helium balloon defies gravity and a 20,000 ton ocean liner cannot defy gravity.

https://deakincomsci2016.wordpress.com/2016/04/17/balloons-defying-gravity/

Balloons; Defying Gravity

When I was a child, I was mesmerized by anything that could float effortlessly in the air. Especially balloons! How could these objects float when I couldn’t?
Then I grew up and the answer, I was told, was helium! I also learnt the laws of gravity. A great force strong enough to hold humans, great masses of oceans even, to the earth. So how is it that Helium, a simple gas, can defy gravity?

The simple answer: Helium is less dense than air.

It was considered flat (with variations on the model) by all ancient civilzations prior to that.

Of course we are told these ancients civilizations were all "primitive" and didn't have the advanced science that we have today.

Why is it that modern science has no clue how the pyramids were built?

Describes most of humanity quite nicely. Don't hesitate to get back to me regarding the shadows on the Moon pic.

You have to understand we are a social species where trust is everything for survival. Do not need to trust everything, but there is some clear lines of social accepted truths, and I know it sound stupid, because we are societies bult on fundaments on belief systems, sometimes harmful belief systems, but we are human who needs a reason to live. Im not there, and find myself pretty much in the middle of everything, even conspiracy theories, which I took great interest in before I matured a bit more. However I never distrusted the moon landings, because it is an impossible project to manage to hide it was fake. To many evidences proofs my belief. I have also seen one of the space shuttles launched live. That was intense.

Also visited the National Air and Space Museum in  Washington D.C. so Im quite positive it really happened. Again, especially since every other country with a space program never have questioned the moon landings.

Then we can discuss everything else except the planet earth is flat, and viruses 😉

Which is why planets are global

A guy is sitting in a bar at the top of a skyscraper. He orders a shot of tequila, downs it, then goes over to the window and jumps out.

The guy sitting next to him, shocked, can hardly believe what he just saw, but the bartender doesn't seem to react. He’s even more dumbfounded when, 10 minutes later, that same guy walks back into the bar and sits down next to him again.

"How on earth did you just do that??", the astonished onlooker asks. "I definitely just saw you jump out the window, and we’re hundreds of feet above the ground!”

To which the jumper responds: “I'll let you in on a little secret. Tequila has secret properties – due to a unique fermentation process and the atmospheric conditions at this altitude, the human body becomes lighter than air and you can literally float down gently from any height, I do it all the time.” Following which he downs another shot, walks over to the window and jumps out again.

The other guy runs to the window and watches as the jumper gently goes down and graciously lands on the sidewalk, all the way down there. A few minutes later, back into the bar he strolls, all smiles.

After pondering over it for a few moments, the other guy decides he has to try and, he too, orders a shot of tequila, which he slams before jumping out the window, ready for an experience which will dwarf any bungee jump. Down he goes with increased momentum and before he has time to realise things may not be going as swimmingly as he had anticipated… SPLAT!

The bartender then looks up, shaking his head. “You really are an a**hole when you’re drunk, Superman.”

What's an HD? Harley Davidson?

I've got one of them.

In the middle ages, those who dared to claim that the earth was round (and not flat) were similarly labelled as conspirors, traitors etc by the corrupt governance and establishments in place in those ages. Seems that not much has changed since. When those dare speak out the truth, it shakes the tree and out come the claims of "fake news" or "conspiracy" from those who get scared to loose their influence or their jobs. No big deal. Happy new year.
