Best Ocean Glass: Best for Tea, for Milk, for Beer, and for Wine? Ocean Glass is Great!

Dear Folks,

If you have lived in Thailand for awhile, then you probably know just how great Ocean Glass glasses, goblets, flutes, etc, truly are.

I have been drinking tea from Ocean products for many a year.

But, what is your all-time favorite Milk Glass?

I would not know about milk glasses.

I have not had a glass of milk in over 15 years.

But then, what about tea?

What is the best Ocean glass for tea, either hot or cold tea?

My  all-time favorite Ocean glass for TEA is their HUGE 625 ml glass...

This one....

image.png.96540795bb44a2f5a1ec6a1e57142b16.png

This, if I am not mistaken, is their B00322 design.

It's big enough for one tea bag.

And, I use this glass to drink all kinds of hot and cold tea.

I would say that this is my favorite tea-drinking glass.

AND, you might ask...how many of these glasses do I have in my house.....?

I have over 6 boxes of these glasses.

Each box contains 6 glasses.

I am not a hoarder, normally.

However, when it comes to these glasses, I do buy enough....

Enough to last me for the rest of my life....

IF I am careful and only break one glass per year...

Due to carelessness.

============

But what about a great Ocean BEER Glass?

I have several different designs of Ocean glasses.

I am not sure which ones are designed for beer drinking.

However, just as a matter of personal preference, then, I would say...

THIS ONE is not bad...

image.png.c3f16eb22e172e7f2f032abf309a5681.png

This glass is great because the mouth of the glass is wide, and so is its base.

I really like this glass for a beer, or two.

===============================

I know that I am a BIG complainer.

However, when it comes to Ocean products....

I just cannot get enough of them.

So far, after over a decade....ZERO complaints...

Try as I might.

Even now, most of my cabinets are filled to the brim with various Ocean glasses, most rarely used.

I just cannot drink enough, every day, to use them all.....

At one sitting.

I live alone, after all.....

==================

The nice thing about Ocean is that the price is not high.

And, the quality is very commendable.

I have zero to complain about, when buying Ocean products...

I must say.

I guess I could say many more nice things about Ocean products, but...

I will save my further praises for the comments section, below.

Meanwhile, what is your favorite glass design, for all occasions?

Just asking.

Best regards,

Gamma

Note: It is quite rare that I ever come across a product, or a company, for which I have ZERO complaints...and....

ONLY PRAISES.....

And so, I just wanted you all to know that it actually IS possible for me to buy local products and....

NEVER COMPLAIN.....

I really LOVE this company.

But, I am not asking them to send me any free gifts, such as more of their glasses.

I now have so many of their glasses that I would not know where to keep them.

These glasses are not the same as you might get from Waterford, I guess.

But, they are STILL beautiful in design.

Whoever they hired to do their design work and glass molds must be TOPS for the price...

I would say.

Great price.

Quite good quality.

But, still, I would prefer crystal, and only if I could afford the TARIFF to import it.....

I Buy local.

I Don't pay import duty.

My credo, I guess.

This is why I live without cheese, here in Thailand.

Fortunately, I make do with fine-looking glassware, locally made.

Glassware which is cheaper than cheese, by a wide margin....

I think I forgot to mention:

The glasses that I purchased are probably Soda-Lime glass.

Which is not to say that I drink either soda or lime using these glasses.

What I would REALLY like to have is a beer glass of borosilicate glass, instead of just plain old....

Soda-lime glass....

Just because, I think I might enjoy a change.

When I was younger, and when we used glassware in the lab, I think it was probably borosilicate glass.

======

So now, I am thinking like this:

When I buy my next BEER GLASS....I think I might order it from Fisher Scientific....

image.png.6b037f62a5df1df7970667ad8fcdc380.png

But, for beer drinking, I would choose the WIDE-MOUTH Erlenmeyer Flask, and the 2000 mL size....

Like this....

image.png.3685718dda57807d37951f022ba50dbd.png

The real advantage of drinking beer from a fine flask, such as this, is that you will not have any....SODA-LIME leach out...into...

Your beer.

Of course, this BEER FLASK from Fisher does not come cheap....

image.png.389af83f8acc52b79d1d49f998a9de3b.png

But, if I had it to do my life over again.....

I would drink my fluids...

ONLY from Lab-Grade glass.

You can be sure, with Fisher...because...

I first bought from Fisher Scientific back in the day....pre-1970s, or around 1965.

Still a GREAT company known worldwide, i would imagine...and....also...like me...

From PA....

Great company....

image.png.7798e5f7f02b0c110c0265ef21c1e63e.png

Such a great company, and everyone knows it.

But....

Buying from Fisher here in Thailand might require a hefty tariff....

Unfortunately.

As they say:  You get what you pay for.  And, Fisher has always sold quality.

Not sure, but hopefully not.

I can only be sure that I have over 100 drinking glasses, here, as of last count.

By the way,....

Do you think that ANYONE will be around....

36 years from now?

Life, in so many respects, is just so very unpredictable.

My best guess is that my drinking glasses will outlive Humankind, by many years.

Still, at the very least, I have quite a few beautifully designed drinking glasses...

From Ocean.

Great glassware...but....

NOT as great as the lab glassware sold by Fisher, of course....

OBVIOUSLY.

Next Life:  I will switch to borosilicate drinking glasses....

image.png.7e9ade904783e32ddc552234c3fac63e.png

I hate it when the Soda_Lime leaches out...and gives my drinking glasses that....

White Foggy Look.....

=================

By the way:

I have visited many glass factories in Taiwan.

I love the look of the RED molten glass as it pours down into the molds.

Spectacularly beautiful, IMHO....

THIS is the way it's done in China.

And,

The Chinese should know, after almost a thousand years.

Note: Obviously, the guys in the UK don't know how to drink tea. And, in addition, they don't know how to eat noodles, either,...maybe....

We have a few store bought glasses, but lately, just make our own out of spare bottles, as we prefer to buy things in glass bottles vs plastic.   So what's not used as a water or whatever bottle, gets cut down to a glass.

Ha...!

I thought you were going to tell me that you installed a glass blowing furnace in your living room, or something.

I mean, you make your own pizza, bread, and so much more.

You really need to start blowing your own glass, I think.

It is.

Ocean glassware is high quality and low cost in Thailand.

Beautiful designs, too, as I have already stated.

The company has been in business for a long time.

Good value.

Kraft foods used to sell smooth and crunchy peanut butter in glasses with a tin lid that were identical to the first photo posted by the OP. I had dozens of them in Oz. About 550 mL volume.

I am a fan of businesses who sell their goods in re-useable containers. Here, Oishi Ramen gets my vote for plastic bowls with lids, which can be easily washed, then used to store and microwave food.

Henry Ford was a smart businessman. He bought gearboxes from another company, rigidly specifying the dimensions and grade of the timber used in making the packing case. Stripped down, the timber was then used for the floorboards of the T-model Ford.

Ocean glass is made in Thailand. Steuben glass is made in the USA.

Mr. Trump would not be happy with you.
