Very immature way of debating, "Frank". It's also a signal of surrender, that you have run out of arguments and cannot prove your case.

Better luck next time.

it doesn't matter what tariffs trump does apply, the media will report it negatively regardless, as they did the tariffs imposed on China the first time round.

The traiff placed on other contries are being negotiated.... any one with half a brain knows how business is done... perhaps you don't know.

So that's why there's overwhelming opposition to the blanket tariffs from economists and captains of industry - they don't have half a brain!

Thanks for pointing that out, "Frank". What would we do without you?!

Neither. That's why I don't start BS threads. However, Trump wanting to be a "wannabe king" is simply a continuance of your inability to accept reality.

Which is what? Has Trump been proclaimed king already?

By your logic then Trump has decided most countries in the world are doing bad things that warranted coincidentally the same 10 per cent tariff .. higher for many of course before maybe he even realised how illogical the original tariffs were .. so every country from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe need to suffer and work out what the hell they need to do to get rid of the stupid tariff... is that a good way to do business

Yes anyone with half a brain knows how business is done. I guess that's why Trump failed in so many business and lost so much money and got so many charges against him for break the law. He doesn't have half a brain

Haha, Like you can name any economists or 'captains of industry'  Bob

Just because CNN bring on someone that agrees with their anti Trump narrative and its repeated by every other anti trump channel doesn't make it true, its just their opinion, as are most of the article being posted here as 'facts'.

Trump didn't chicken out. The problem is different. Trump's calculations on China's eternal cowardice did not come true.
And all because China understands that the war in Ukraine is 99% USA in any case, no matter how many proxies it has (ProxyUkraine, Proxy EU etc). And if suddenly, on some fine day, the USA diverts at least some of its resources from the war with Russia to China, they will immediately lose catastrophically in Ukraine. Understanding this makes China extremely impudent.

Trump’s trade war olive branch met with derision and mistrust inside China

"“The unilateral tariff hikes were initiated by the US. If the US truly wants to resolve the issue, it should heed the rational voices of the international community and its own domestic stakeholders, fully remove all unilateral tariff measures against China, and find a way to resolve differences through equal dialogue,” he added.

Chinese officials also denied the two sides are speaking. Trump told reporters on Wednesday there were direct talks between US and Chinese officials “everyday” on trade, though he didn’t offer specifics."

I guess his lips were moving.

After seeing how Putin dealt with Trump, Xi knows that Trump is weak...:coffee1:

Yeah well you may be wrong on the million part but  its probably because you haven't got a pot to piss in and failed at business so you follow a loser. Moral character left a long time ago for you I suspect.

I'm happy with that because I'm correcting and  ignorant people and can sleep peacefully at night as I don't lie, cheat, steal, run fraudulent business, or sexually abuse women, cheated charities, conducted racist rental housing or bankrupted any of the businesses I ran or give putin a reach around.  And as an aside here you are answer "my bickering" post. What does that say about you?

An even bigger mistake is listening to Trump and thinking that anything anything he says is not propaganda. He is in reality a Marxist and a master at the use of propaganda. That's how he won.

China Says US Should Revoke Unilateral Tariffs, Denies Talks

China demanded that the US revoke all unilateral tariffs and denied there were talks on reaching a trade deal, maintaining a defiant stance despite President Donald Trump’s recent easing of criticism of the country.

“The US should respond to rational voices in the international community and within its own borders and thoroughly remove all unilateral tariffs imposed on China, if it really wants to solve the problem,” Commerce Ministry spokesman He Yadong said at a regular briefing on Thursday in Beijing.

He also dismissed speculation that progress has been made in bilateral communications, saying “any reports on development in talks are groundless,” and urging the US to “show sincerity” if it wants to make a deal.

It's all political theater.  Propaganda?  Marxist?

Everywhere you look these days, the mainstream media is all about propaganda.  If it's all over the news around the world, that's because the people who run the mainstream media organizations want it to be there.  They placed it there for a reason, and they certainly won't publish anything that's contrary to the narrative.  But fortunately, their monopoly is fading away with the rise of small independent journalists.

As for Trump?  I'm well aware of all the criticisms. That he shoots from the hip. That he's wishy washy. That he has no plan. That his proposed tariffs are counterproductive and not an answer to the complex problems that exist.  Even the normally "crazy" talking heads think he's crazy and ill-informed.

Still, right now, he's the President and I think it's relevant to focus on what comes next. How will it all play out?  That's the more interesting way to approach it all.

I also think that, for various reasons, "business as usual" failed. It wasn't working. Too many corrupt politicians?  That's part of it, for sure.  Anyway, the failed system left itself wide open for Trump or someone like him to come along and win.  The voters wanted a fix and he promised one.   And so, he's now President.

I'm not sure where he got the "Marxist" idea, unless he was suggesting that Trump used tactics similar to Hitler's Nazi party during its rise to power by courting working-class, rural voters who felt abandoned.  And it worked.  Trump is no Marxist, however.

Here's the official Chicom govt response to POTUS latest lie:

“China and the U.S. have not engaged in any consultations or negotiations regarding tariffs, let alone reached an agreement.”

What a world where the leader of a Communist nation has infinite more credibility than someone who occupies a once-respected position and office.

The whole world is laughing.

In my post, I used the term "cave", as that is all POTUS has been doing of late. That bastion of socialist liberal ideology (/sarc) known as The Wall Street Journal, titled an article "He blinked, and blinked again". Wasn't Blinky one of the Seven Dwarfs?

Another bastion of socialist liberal ideology (more sarc) known as Fox News, conducted a poll and found only 38% of Americans say they approve of POTUS' handling of the economy. The poll also showed that since taking office, people fear their financial future more than at any time since 2001.

24 years. Smells like a generational high. LOL
