In the early hours of April 26, a brutal stabbing incident left a 34-year-old Irish national injured outside a condominium on Thepprasit Soi 17, Pattaya, Chonburi province.

The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre in Pattaya received the emergency call at approximately 01:35  reporting a violent assault with a injured victim. Rescue volunteers and police officers from Pattaya City Police Station were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered Mr. Scott Thomas Lacy, 34, lying in a pool of blood beside a red-plated Honda ADV 150 motorcycle. He had sustained deep lacerations from a sharp object to his left arm, abdomen, and both legs. A folding knife was found on the road nearby and was secured as evidence by investigators.

Rescue workers administered first aid at the scene before urgently transporting Mr. Lacy to a nearby hospital. His condition was described by responders as serious.

A security guard from a neighbouring condominium told police he saw the victim returning from a convenience store on his motorcycle when he was suddenly ambushed by another foreign man on a motorcycle. The attacker reportedly forced the victim off his bike by kicking him, then brutally stabbed him multiple times before speeding away, leaving the victim seriously wounded on the roadside.

Police have launched a manhunt for the assailant. Pol. Lt. Col. Chaowalit Suwanmanee, Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya City Police, confirmed that officers have been dispatched to gather evidence and track down the suspect based on descriptions provided by a witness.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as the investigation continues.

As the motive was not robbery , that leaves Money dispute , Woman , or drugs ,

the victim ,I think must know the attacker, should not take the police long to find

him ,unless he has crossed the border already.

I completely agree it's one of the safest places I've ever been and I never fear for my safety in Thailand. The vast majority of the violence is Thai on Thai, and it's usually young punks, or related to drugs and other criminal activity.

And of course in Pathaya or Phuket

I feel so sorry for my fellow citizen.

However, there might be a story behind, why this assault happened.

Very true. I abhor the use of knives but as you say we don’t know what has gone on previously. Threats may have been made towards the assailant or his family and he just decided to settle it on his timeframe. If this is the case though, he could have done things differently.

You left out the YABA crazed dude with a machete and a grudge against all foreigners.  I'm not saying that's what it was, but it does happen.

I've worked, studied, travelled to over 40 countries, Thailand is the safest by FAR.

Thailand has been home for me and my large family, I've lived here over 20 years, never had a problem.

Like to know what he did, he p*ssed someone off.

Lots of troublemaking foreigners arriving.

Thailand has a special way with dealing with troublemakers.

Anyway, probably road rage, 2 idiots.

Totally agree with you both.

Lived here 25 years now.

No issues at all.

Same with Singapore and Hong Kong.

Cannot same the same for UK (Birmingham) and Oz (Sydney).
