DTV Border Bounce from Pattaya via van - 5,700 baht. Why are DTV border bounces more costly?

Featured Replies

C'mon, it's just 1800 baht extra, no big deal for a 6-month stamp.

The only problem is the ugly Cambodian visa that will eat a page in your passport.

Possibly the worst suggestion I have read regarding a border bounce from Pattaya to Cambodia.

Because they know you couldn't extend your stay, so you're held to ransom for a border bounce. So happy I stuck with the 1-year extension, less hassle and more cost-effective.

Why use a visa run agent, why not just find a cheap flight to a neighboring country, fly in and fly back on the same day, you don't even have to pass through immigration in the country you visit, Just transit through the airport and fly back to Thailand and enter. I am sure you can find some cheap flights, which are less then the price quoted for the visa run.

I know which one I would be doing....✈️

How do you get the boarding pass for these cheap flight tickets to come back without clearing immigration of the country you visit? The airline check-in desk which issues boarding passes are located in the outside section of the airport.

Also, the cheapest flight tickets are at least 3.5k, plus 2k for the car to and from Pattaya, plus meals at the airport. Already makes it the same price or more than a visa run van. Not to mention it'll take double the amount of time too.

You need to stay out at least one day.  You will need a stamp in/out of the neighboring country.

I guess they MIGHT want people on marriage visas to bring marriage certificates, bank books, etc. with them in the future as well.

I always carried a copy of my marriage-cert (both KR types) with me when traveling on a Non-O / married visa, and receipt for payment of the visa.  I never needed them, but it gave me peace of mind.

No need for bank-books, as was not required for that type of visa (or extension) post-issuance (2 mo before, only).  I could see them trying a "check your money" on "retirement" based, at some point in the future - unless you pay for "safe entry," of course.  They are "checking the money is up to date" to transfer your stamps at CW, now, unless you pay an agent to do the stamp-transfer.
