It's kind of hard when your party controls NO branch of government.
People from parliamentary system countries might not get that.
The democrats in the house for example don't even have the power to get bills open for debate.
My experience is different, and most expats I engage with, seem to be quite happy, and living the dream in TH.
Most western retirees on AN, or that returned to the homeland with said tail between their legs seem to be quite miserable

I much prefer to give a small tip in Thailand to a waitress where I nearly always get a thank you wai then to have someone shove a tablet in my face in America asking if I want to tip 20 25 or 35% on an overpriced drink or meal with rarely so much as a nod of thanks. It is totally out of control in America and seems to get worse every year.
