In old age stomach muscles are a problem that doesn’t move your food

Most of it regarding older age is lowered enzymes, changes in gut microbiome, yes, muscles in the abdomen not as efficient, lack of enough fiber and water, less the stomach muscles and more lack of movement in general has it get slower. Some medications are very bad, especially opioids. My ex wife had to have her large intestine removed because her doctors got her hooked on opioids for way too long for general pains.

There are many different fiber products available. If you want to try this one and can't find it, check out the ingredients, which should be listed somewhere. Then search others that are available to see if they have the same ingredients, as many use the same types. You can also get fiber from many foods as has been mentioned. People have been using Metamucil and others like it for decades, just to add al little extra fiber easily. I found the ingredients for this one for you........Each FyboCalm Constipation Relief capsule contains Chia Seed Powder, Pea Protein, Xyloglucan, Magnesium Stearate (vegetable origin) and Amorphous Precipitated Silica. The capsule is composed of Hypromellose and Titanium Dioxide.....................You can get chia seeds and pea protein in many forms. Xyloglucan is a polysaccharide found in plants. You might find this in other fiber products, or at least some combined with other fiber additives.

PEG 3350 ( Macrogol ) and PEG 4000 ( Forlax ) are effective. Similar to what is used for a cleanout prior to a colonoscopy.

Non-habit forming, non-irritant.

Forlax is 520 baht for 20 sachets.

Probiotics such as kimchi or kefir will do the trick. Kefir is simple to make, blended with some fruit and sit it out for a day and flush your grief down the can.

Apart from fibers, one thing that works is magnesium oxide (MgO). It has to be the oxide.

The magnesium supplements that work to prevent eg cramps in sports are different and are not recommended for constipation.

Taken daily, magnesium oxide can prevent your crap from turning to concrete as soon as you skip the veggies and/or the fruits.

You don't need to add more chemicals to your system.  Use the " Bumgun" to give yourself a mini enema. Or try the Glycerin suppositories which you stick up @rse.

Thank you for your most detailed reply Fredwiggy, much appreciated, however I was really trying to get hold of the "FyboCalm" product as I have tried almost literally, everything, including those detailed in your post, at one time or another.

One which was mentioned on here a while ago and it seemed to work for me was one by "Posh Medica", which contains tamarind powder, psyllium husk, chlorella powder and many others and it worked until it didn't, so having tried just about all of the others, I thought I'd give the one mentioned by @3NUMBAS a go.

I sometimes have to revert to my tried and trusted method, which I had to just a couple of days ago having been constipated for almost 5 days, which is a large glass of the Sunsweet prune juice to which I add a couple of dessert spoons of liquid sorbitol – – the problem with this is that it's effects are varied and range from gentle relief to something akin to a hurricane!

It's also worth mentioning that folks have different passage times of food through their system i.e. "It takes about 36 hours for food to move through the entire colon. All in all, the whole process — from the time you swallow food to the time it leaves your body as feces — takes about two to five days, depending on the individual".

So perhaps I worry too much about not being that "regular"?.

Yes, everyone's different, even if they are the same age, weight, gender and eat the same things. All my life it's been 2 times a day, and sometimes as much as 4, besides those times when things get loose. The gastro system is a major body system that regulates much of how we survive, and a lot more important than some realize. I has H Pylori last year, and underwent treatment, and after almost 7 months of healthy eating, collagen and some omaprazole, it's still not back to "normal". But it's getting there, as the treatment for H Pylori does a number on your gut microbiome for quite a while sometimes. My daughter also had constipation for a long time, until she started eating more healthier and taking collagen. Now it's better for her also. I see Fybocalm in a few places. It seems Fybocalm is the same as Senokot.......https://www.lazada.co.th/products/pdp-i5681328042-s24235393270.html?c=&channelLpJumpArgs=&clickTrackInfo=query%3Asenokot%25E0%25B8%25A2%25E0%25B8%25B2%25E0%25B8%25A3%25E0%25B8%25B0%25E0%25B8%259A%25E0%25B8%25B2%25E0%25B8%25A2%3Bnid%3A5681328042%3Bsrc%3ALazadaMainSrp%3Brn%3A4f2f65f725a046903bb24359dd811769%3Bregion%3Ath%3Bsku%3A5681328042_TH%3Bprice%3A190%3Bclient%3Adesktop%3Bsupplier_id%3A100516528819%3Bbiz_source%3Ah5_internal%3Bslot%3A0%3Butlog_bucket_id%3A470687%3Basc_category_id%3A8982%3Bitem_id%3A5681328042%3Bsku_id%3A24235393270%3Bshop_id%3A4521899%3BtemplateInfo%3A107882_D_E%231104_L%23-1_A3_C%23&freeshipping=0&fs_ab=2&fuse_fs=&lang=en&location=Bangkok&price=1.9E 2&priceCompare=skuId%3A24235393270%3Bsource%3Alazada-search-voucher%3Bsn%3A4f2f65f725a046903bb24359dd811769%3BoriginPrice%3A19000%3BdisplayPrice%3A19000%3BsinglePromotionId%3A-1%3BsingleToolCode%3AmockedSalePrice%3BvoucherPricePlugin%3A0%3Btimestamp%3A1746501588378&ratingscore=5.0&request_id=4f2f65f725a046903bb24359dd811769&review=7&sale=129&search=1&source=search&spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.0&stock=1.have you tried this one?.......https://mcgrocer.com/products/fybocalm-wind-bloating-relief-capsules-x30..

Low levels of vitamin C can lead to constipation, as some studies have shown a link between vitamin C deficiency and constipation

OK, but   the likelihood of  a vitamin C deficiency in an older male is  indicative of a more serious issue such as a nutrition deficiency or an intestinal absorption deficiency.  If someone is constipated the tried and true method of addressing is  exercise movement such as walking  and more fiber.

I've added prunes, prune juice and Psyllium husk to my diet and have no more problems.

Dates are also excellent.
