The arrest related to charges of violent assault and property damage, put the brakes on his escape plans just moments before international departure. Under the watchful eyes of Phuket's top cops, headed by Ying Ratsarin Theerapatthanakun and Sutheerat Theerasawat, the investigation team executed the arrest. Their coordinated effort with officers from Koh Phangan ensured the swift capture of the suspect. The man's charges include inflicting harm on another's body or mind and causing property loss—a serious blot on his travel records. The operation was carried out smoothly in the international departure area, ensuring minimal disruption to other travellers. The Australian national was swiftly handed over to Koh Phangan Police Station in Surat Thani for the next steps in the legal process. His legal future now hangs in the balance as the law takes its course. This serves as a stark reminder for those thinking of escaping justice that the net closes quickly, even across international borders. With this arrest, Thailand’s authorities send a clear message: the country remains committed to crime prevention and maintaining public safety. Legal proceedings will continue, and justice will determine the outcome for the Australian citizen. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Phuket Airport Immigration 2025-05-15 4 2

No need for cloak and dagger operations. He's now stamped out of the country as this arrest happened airside, they like to make maximum problems for anyone arrested in this way don't they. Did they stamp him back in or will he now be charged with additional immigration related issues? 1 1

Title said "violent assault". No mention of exactly what or against who. Property loss too - what specifically? Very little detail. If he behaved badly then he deserves what he gets. Suspect, it may be a jilted lover who made the report to police. Would like to hear more detail and the conclusion of this "case". 1 1
Popular Post bkk6060 Posted 10 hours ago Popular Post Posted 10 hours ago Sounds like another fool trying to escape. Hope he gets what he deserves. 1 2
Thingamabob Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Arrested based on allegations by whom I wonder. Could possibly be a set-up instigated by a former partner. Be interesting to see how this develops. 2 1
Dave0206 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Thai law is efficient and quick across international borders ? I bet the " boss" is shaking in his boots 2
Thumbs Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago These police must have sore backs after patting themselves on the back so much for a job we'll done! How difficult is it to arrest a foreign national attempting to leave the country after he has been identified, his name and passport details will appear on the manifest

The reason they do this, is because you are in no mans land, meaning you are in no way protected by domestic laws
hotchilli Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Hobbled at the last moment.. I bet he thought he was away free.
wensiensheng Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Where is the sting aspect? They just arrested him as he passed through immigration. He wasn’t lured there was he? 1
