This operation took place yesterday, following a tip-off from a concerned local who suspected that Snoopy Samui, a shop located in the bustling area of Bo Phut's Village 2, was offering more than its advertised cannabis products.

After a tip-off, otherwise business as usual.

Considering there's more weed shops/cafes/bars than massage shops on the island these days I'm guessing most of the <deleted>ty ones who sell very low quality weed (because they don't have a clue about it) etc are a front for illegal narcotics.

on the idyllic island of Koh Samui

Is this even true anymore? Seemed just like another tourist trap to me but with lots of ganja shops for the druggies and layabouts. Not very impressive with some exceptions.

There was some talk of that earlier this year.

They are banned from a few countries already.

Maldives had banned Israelis tourist, and the other countries are?

Are foreigners allowed to work in or own weed shops ?

If you have a work permit you can work in your shop or anyone else’s for that matter.  The work permit is the key ingredient.

Owning a shop does not allow you to work in it.

“In a developing saga that highlights Thailand's growing frustration with disorderly foreign visitors,”

I get that he was selling illegal substances, but can’t for the life of me see where it says he was disorderly.

Did they mix up the story or did they just tag it on to a theme of the moment that they are trying to develop into a “thing”?

But can you do any physical work and selling or is the role as a supervisor basically.

Great way to launder money also. Buy the crappiest  weed you can buy for  peanuts and then make out like it's some amazing stuff you sell for 1000bht a gram .

You haven’t ever used magic mushrooms?

A lot of fun, but disorderly is a word that could be used to describe the effects.

It drives you crazy that Jews rule you doesnt it?

What the hell are you on about?

I live in Phuket and the Jews have no influence on my life apart from all the misbehaving ones in Thailand making us all look bad.

Talk about overestimating your own self importance.

What a scandal!! It's my understanding, that most cannabis shops in Koh Samui and Koh Phangan are selling magic mushrooms. So the real problem must be, that in this particular shop, they were sold by a foreign tourist. Meanwhile all the Thai-sellers of magic mushrooms continues to operate undisturbed, because no foreigner would be bothered to tip off the police about a Thai national selling magic mushrooms.

My self importance? I wish I has Jewish then I could get a passport and some beachfront in Tel Aviv, maybe even Gaza. They rule me too. I just wondered how much it bothers the goosestep crowd.

Maybe ban all Israelis from entering Thailand.

They are a bunch of misbehavers.

From your anti-Semitic point of view, certainly:coffee1:

I don't get this.  If you are not in your home country you need to be extra careful to not break any laws or cause any trouble.  Why would someone sell this stuff?  Desperate for money maybe or just stupid?  Both?
