Just like them, Germany would have to source uranium from third parties. I don't think East Germany has enough either.
I would argue that Hitler's ill-judged decision to tear up the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact and invade Russia on 22nd June 1941, nearly six months prior to the 7th December Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour and the USA declaring war on Germany on 11th December 1941, was when the outcome of WW2 was decided. The US's entry into the war undoubtedly shortened it's length, but Hitler's decision to start an Eastern Front was the point he lost the war.
