I would also like to mention here, at this time, that I am now considering submitting my application to the Ross Medical School, of Barbados, for entrance in September.
This was not the prime motivating factor for starting this Topic.
However, I would just like to know how things stand in North America, in light of the ads I am seeing on the Med School internet sites.
Sure, I am a bit long in the tooth to begin my studies at Med School, not to mention my career in internal medicine.
But I can tell you that I will not be the oldest student ever to apply to a decent school of medicine.
I have a lot to offer, with very good prep from an excellent pre-med program at Penn, as you know.
I think I might also like to work on gender-related issues as these affect internal medicine, upon my graduation and completion of residency.
Still, speaking to the worldwide question, I am interested in this, as well, having already mentioned that I am noting this shift, now ongoing, and continually increasing at an even more rapid rate.
There are good reasons and causes, as I have stated above.
I have to say that I DO bring a couple of plastic jars of instant coffee in my suitcase when I visit Thailand. My chosen Gold Blend is much cheaper in UK, plus I cannot just get it at 7/11 - I need to make an effort and go to a bigger shop.
I looked at those the other day, but the rules aren't exactly clear. For example, you invest xxxx amount of money, and then they decide how long your visa should be valid for. Anywhere from 1-5 years, or maybe it's 1-10 years. Still, it would be nice to know what you're getting for your money, I think.
