Pocket Pistols

Featured Replies

Within the next 18 months or so, Im going to migrate to 5 Months USA and the rest split between Europe and Thailand/Cambodia. That much time in the USA necessitates I rearm.

Walking around with my pants dragging from just a cell phone (my butt has migrated to my belly) leads me to believe that my days of carrying a BHP or 1911 anywhere on my waist are over. Thats for under the seat.

In the past I have carried various pocket pistols, mostly Seecamps but also things like Budischowsky TP-70, Walther TP-22, Colt 1908, etc

Revolvers are too bulky, as are the old tip up Berettas. I dont classify early FN and Colt .32s as "pocket".

Any suggestions for a pocket pistol other than the Seecamps?  Has anyone worked with the Ruger LCP in terms of accuracy and function? Is anyone pocket carrying a NAA 22 mag? Anything new I should look at, Ive been away from guns for several years.

Glock 42 are fairly compact and can be had for Bt.50,000.

Ruger LCP is a very light gun, which will have a kick that can distract aim. Close quarters it's okay. Walther PPK is a very reliable gun in .380. A .22 isn't enough to stop a muscle hit on a hyped up medium to large man. Remington R51. Glock 19 is still small enough and reliable.

Too big for pocket carry and Glocks can only be carried in a holster anyway for safety reasons

Have you shot the LCP?

PPK is too big and heavy, Glock needs a holster.

About smaller cheaper arms, it comes down to grip options and stability for precision. It is an individual experience and feeling for being confident and reliable when it needs.

However, I would move to a place where guns was not needed.

Well thats helpful, which ones do you recommend? Do you feel there is an ergonomic difference between a Browning Vest Pocket vis a vis a Colt 1908?

You pocket carry a Glock? Thats totally unsafe and the whole gun world knows it.

I sold guns before I moved here and we rarely sold an LCP. It is a very light gun and that doesn't help when shooting, although it's okay, like all guns, if you're very close, which most encounters are. If you're just putting the gun in your pocket, all of them are okay besides those w/o a safety.

Nah, it lives the the centre console of the car.

Even guns with safeties can be dangerous when you pull out of a pocket. Yes, the Glock hasn't one and it's best in a pocket .holster

You prefer a wheelgun?

There are some nice options in .38, snubnose with bobbed hammer.

5-round capacity, around 16 ounces.

Yes but too bulky for a back pocket on a fat mans pants or a vest pocket on a jacket

I have no preference out of all guns we testet through my brother import company when it comes to pocket guns because of the reasons mentioned in my previous post. If Im oing to choose other than my clock 19, kel tech p3at which you get with full grip.

You may have to go with a .22 semi, very thin, very light.

Invisible in a jacket pocket, even with a holster.

Or, if you wear a belt......

Funny guy 😁

More realistic than you ever get out of Cambodia, since you started to act like an A H in your own thread.

Coming from a farm where we had hunting rights and fired arms since I could hold one.

Norway do have guns also

No.

But many states allow people who are afraid to buy guns.

I lived over 60 years in the USA and never saw a gun except being carried by law enforcement.

But I guess people who are afraid feel that they need them.

Some might be afraid but if someone pulls a gun on you and threatens your family, having a gun might even the odds. Better them than you or your loved ones. That's not including all the hunters and target shooters.
