Report Burmese Roti Vendor Arrested for Sexual Assaults in Pattaya, Attempts to Bribe Police

The arrest occurred on May 22 following complaints by two teenage women who reported incidents on Pattaya Beach. According to the victims, Thant Ngwe approached them separately, luring them onto his motorcycle with deceitful intentions. The first victim recounted how she was led to an abandoned bathroom under the false pretense of being taken to his residence, where she was raped, robbed of her belongings, and left stranded. The second victim escaped a similar fate in a dark alley, thanks to a passing motorist who intervened. Police speculation that the attacks were linked to a single perpetrator derived from the victim statements indicating the assailant could speak Thai but with an unclear accent, suggesting he was a foreign national. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect, identifiable by his red and black motorcycle, travelling from Pattaya to the Si Racha district in Chon Buri. Authorities tracked down and detained the 27-year-old Thant Ngwe at his rented accommodation, which he shared with his pregnant wife. Items belonging to the victims, including a stolen mobile phone, were recovered from his room. During interrogation, Thant Ngwe claimed he engaged with three women and insisted the encounters were consensual, asserting they were prostituting themselves. In custody, Thant Ngwe attempted to bribe his way out of charges, an offer which the officers firmly rejected. He has since been charged under two sections of the Criminal Law: Section 278: This law pertains to sexually assaulting a victim over 15 years of age through threat or violence, with penalties reaching up to 10 years of imprisonment, fines up to 200,000 baht, or both. Section 336: This law addresses theft by snatching another's valuables, carrying penalties of up to five years in prison and fines up to 100,000 baht. The case underscores the gravity of sexual crimes and the determination of law enforcement to pursue justice, rejecting attempts at bribery and ensuring offenders face the full extent of the law. No. It was the misspelling of the URL as I mentioned in a later comment. But whenever DDG refuses to connect a URL there is always the suspicion of malware/virus. I didn't suggest anything, as didn't have a clue what CC was asking, stating, and why I asked for a translation. So, in the context used, what does 'all over environment' mean, or even 'overall environment' mean, as still haven't a clue. If 'all over' is supposed to be 'overall', does sound better, but don't understand it, as a reply to my post. 'Overall environment' of what ? Talk to me like an ignorant wee one, as would like to know what it was suppose to mean. Just out of curiosity, even if I can't reply with a snappy comeback 🙄
