He wasn't accused of hurting anyone, committing any offences other than immigration law.

He wasn't doing drugs, getting drunk or annoying people.

All of this is irrelevant to Thai Immigration. They ignore real crime while placing undue and hysterical emphasis on "overstay".

Why do you think that Thai Immigration has gone insane, just because they are enforcing the law?

.

Are you condoning law breaking?

You do not change the law by continuing to obey like a mindless MAGA moron. Western nations can force Thailand to change if they apply sanctions judiciously.  Laws that are not fair must be changed by force.

If you don't like the laws of the country that you are living in, then either move to a country where you do like the laws, or simply love with the laws of the country that you are living in.

The other alternative is to become a national of the country you are living in, get a vote, start your own political party, win an overall majority vote at the next general election and then you can change the laws that YOU don't like.

"Laws that are not fair must be changed by force".

Says who?

And if it is you, what will YOU use for force?

As usual, you have no idea of the Thai Immigration police role.

Their responsibility is Immigration. They are responsible for visas, Immigration and overstaying.

Crime is the responsibility of the regular police force.

A completely idiotic post. Laws have been changed by force when the United States and other western countries applied SANCTIONS to bring unjust countries to heel. Thailand still owes the USA for pulling their chestnuts out of the fire during the Vietnam War.  The Thai government was scared to death of a communist takeover.  We all know what happens to monarchies when the commies take over.

Having lived here for ten years, I am very aware of the role of Thai Immigration. Welcome to my "ignore list".

And I was concerned about my eyesight ,🤣

If any foreigner involved it would be a translator in civil outfit

Or a Tourist Police Volunteer in police uniform, but I'm sure there are any/many TPVs in Phangan.
