A dispute ended in fatal stabbing early morning on 26 May, in Samut Prakan province, after a woman, fearing for her safety, claimed to have accidentally and fatally wounded her husband during a struggle.

At approximately 02:00, police from Samrong Nuea Station were alerted to a stabbing incident on Sukhumvit Soi 78. Officers, accompanied by emergency rescue workers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, rushed to the scene.

They found a severely injured man, later identified as Mr. Saiaungthein, aged 26, a Myanmar national, lying unconscious by the roadside. He had deep lacerations beneath his chin, on the left chest, and abdomen. Despite prolonged CPR efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 50 metres away, police discovered a pool of blood and a sharp knife outside a nearby house. The knife was collected as evidence and the area was secured pending forensic investigation.

Mrs. Nanlaungkham, 25, the deceased’s wife, also from Myanmar, told police that her husband had been drinking at a local bar. When she went to retrieve him, an argument broke out. She intended to stay at a hotel until he calmed down, but during a confrontation, he brandished a knife. Trying to wrest the weapon from him, she stated she accidentally stabbed him.

An eyewitness, Mr. Aekpong Damnoen, 30, described seeing the man collapse outside a shop with heavy bleeding. The wife explained that her drunken husband had been violent towards her, leading to a struggle for the knife, which resulted in the fatal injuries.

Police have recorded statements from both the wife and the eyewitness and are continuing their investigation. The case will proceed under the law.

I'm not sure how you can 'accidentally' stab someone at least three times in three different locations on the body, but I wasn't there so I could be wrong.
