Bangkok Cracks Down on Rogue Taxi Drivers

Bangkok’s tourist police have arrested 76 taxi drivers in a crackdown on misconduct, targeting those who refused passengers, avoided using meters, or blocked traffic. Eleven were caught not using meters, five denied fares, and 60 were parked illegally. Authorities say the crackdown aims to protect Bangkok’s reputation and ensure fair treatment for tourists. Offenders face legal action, and police are encouraging visitors to report bad behaviour as part of a broader effort to restore trust in the city’s taxi services.
