Authorities in Chachoengsao province are investigating the discovery of a human skull found wrapped in a pink towel next to two black bags in Ban Pho district, prompting concerns and mystery among local residents. The skull, which appears to have suffered trauma likely inflicted by a blunt object, had long red hair attached, leading police to suspect the deceased might be a woman.

Police volunteers and officers from the Mueang Police Station conducted a thorough search of the area on May 28, combing through dense grass for over an hour without unearthing any additional evidence or human remains. The investigation is focusing locally, with particular attention on nearby worker camps.

Police Major Kritsanak Sakchai has been actively investigating these camps to determine if any residents are unaccounted for. However, no missing persons have been reported from these camps, complicating the identification of the victim. The scope of the investigation is extending to a CCTV footage review dating back to mid-April to identify any suspicious activities around the time of the incident.

Police Colonel Pornchai Kittikhajornthorn explained that two main hypotheses are being pursued. One is that the victim might be a foreign worker, which would necessitate an expanded search to check if anyone from local camps has disappeared. The other theory suggests that the skull’s presence in the area might imply the body was disposed of there after an unnatural death elsewhere.

Chachoengsao Police Major General Kriengkrai Bunson convened a meeting with relevant agencies to strategize on resolving the case, highlighting the urgency of addressing the unsettling discovery. Despite these efforts, there have been no recent missing person reports filed in the district over the past month, deepening the mystery.

Local residents remain disturbed by the finding, which was initially reported last month, stoking concerns and a desire for answers about the identity of the deceased and the circumstances leading to the skull’s burial. As the investigation continues, authorities hope new evidence or information will surface to aid in uncovering the truth behind this grim discovery.

The recent discovery of a skull with long red hair in Chachoengsao has triggered an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of a Thai woman in Pattaya. Krittapas, a 15-year-old boy, stumbled upon the skull at around 5.30pm on May 27 while jogging along a forested path. The shocking find led to a police inquiry spearheaded by Saenphutdat Police Station.

On search of the area, police unearthed two rubbish bags amid the foliage. One bag, torn open, revealed a pink towel, which officers suspect might have originally concealed the skull. Local stray dogs are believed to have disrupted the scene, perhaps drawn by scent emanating from the contents.

Indicative of foul play, the skull bore a distinctive crack approximately 10 centimetres wide. This has led investigators to suspect the woman was beaten to death with a hard object. Community members shared that the secluded path often serves as a shortcut for locals but remains deserted at night, a factor that potentially facilitated the disposal of evidence unnoticed.

A nearby motorcyclist recalled previously seeing a cardboard box on the road, surmising it could have contained the bags before being moved to avert road accidents. This theory suggests the rubbish bags could have housed evidence linked to the woman's death.

As the investigation continues, an autopsy is being conducted to formally identify the skull. Meanwhile, a Facebook news page, Jmoi V+, reported the family of 43-year-old Metinee believes it might be hers. Matching details, such as Metinee's long red hair, align with those of the skull.

Metinee disappeared following a dispute with her foreign boyfriend, last seen on May 5 in Soi Buakhao, Pattaya. Despite the ongoing investigation, her family has not commented on any claims or denials made by the boyfriend regarding her vanishing. The community and authorities remain on edge as they await further developments from the ongoing forensic examination.
