Next time you're strolling down soi 6 you better make sure you have a three piece suit on.

You can never go wrong by wearing a nice suit to the red-light district. When I lived in Manila back in the 80's, I was the only guy on the strip that wore a nice suit and tie. Only the smartest and most beautiful girls would approach me because the others were intimidated by me. I never had trouble walking out with the prize gal, and those were the best years of my life. If you dress like garbage, then that's what you attract!

Yes I had some good times on my last 2 trips to Manila

Last year I flew over from

Bangkok ,only went for 2 days

One of my highlight was Tuesday night I walked up & down the subway all night "patrolling"

I recall going from Edsa to Abdo Santos

Absolutely loved the thrill as I walked thru the carriages dangling my keys like a patrol officer , I feel important as people stared up at me as I walked through

I have one that bugs me.

I take a taxi to work 5 days a week.

The inability of a significant percentage of taxi drivers to find my condo is a mystery to me.

It is located 1 km off Ramkhamheang Rd., take one main soi and make 1 left turn and you are there.

The security guard calls me a taxi and sometimes 2 taxis cancel because they can't find the place.

Sometimes I can see the taxi stopping in the middle of the soi and apparently giving up and turning around unable to continue another 200 meters.

Grab charges a 20 baht flat fee on a 60 baht fare and often no Grab taxis are available in my area when needed so I rarely use Grab.

The taxi drivers always show up with a little scrap of paper with directions on it from the dispatcher.

The drivers are unable to find the condo on a regular basis, I would say on the order of one out of ten.

What I can't figure out is why the dispatcher considers this acceptable and doesn't try to improve the directions given.

Only needs go "east on Ramkhamheang, left on soi xx0, after 600 meters left on soi 1x.

Continue 400 meters Condo on the left."

Alternatively, my condo is on Google maps, only need to enter the name of the condo to get directions.

I don't get it.

No Education.

If you can't wear a bandana when you're playing tennis, then what kind of world are we living in?

Bandanas actually protect sweat from rolling down into your eyes and face.

And so what if it's a flag? Jesus. Fashion police is scary.

The Union Jack can be displayed better. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/spicegirls/images/c/cb/Halliwell.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130421141536

Is this satire?

In the 80s I would wear suits as well to go out. But times have changed.  I blame house music. It all went downhill from there.

I don't know, but I did notice a guy driving a fancy convertible sports car through a red light district and loads of women were screaming. I guess the whiff of wealth excites them, so it could be that if you dress in a 3 piece suit you might get more attention.

But it's almost comical because since they're all hookers, anyone can get with any of them.

Unless they "put out" more if they think you're filthy rich?

I guess I should have added the backstory for those unaware.. He (Greg Rusedski) was Canadian but had British Citizenship through a parent. He moved to the UK while already an adult pro tennis player in Canada and tried to look and sound 'English' - Union flag head coverings, calling everyone 'mate', etc., with a Canadian accent.

He was lampooned in the British press (albeit lightly because he was a very good tennis player). He actually became the UK's #1 briefly in a rivalry with British star Tim Henman (who the Wimbledon and British HiSo crowd (Sloanies) really adored). Henman eventually overshadowed Rusedski and then went on to greater things, while the latter faded. They're both around the same age and are now both 'former' British tennis number-ones.

  • Dual pricing for foreigners, even in some private establishments.

  • Loud music at all times, especially at night.

  • Waiters who talk or play on their phones, making you wait 20 minutes before taking your order.

So many Thai restaurants bring the pot of rice first, because it is already cooked, then you get main course 10 minutes later to eat with cold rice.

The rice is often already cold when they bring it.

I would suggest changing restaurants. Very often the food itself is room temperature but the rice is hot, at least in any decent restaurant.
