A 15-year-old boy has died following a road crash in Lampang province on the evening of 28 May. The incident occurred on the outer ring road near the entrance to Ban Sri Muad Klao, in Chomphu subdistrict, Mueang district.

Emergency services from the Lampang Rescue Association were alerted by the 191 Police Radio Centre after a report was received of a motorcycle colliding with the rear of a white Honda City sedan.

Upon arrival, rescue personnel found the car stationary in the middle of the road with damage to the left rear side. Debris from the impact was scattered across the road surface. A blue-and-black motorcycle bearing Lampang plates was found nearby, heavily damaged and lying on its side.

The rider, later identified as Mr Songkran, a 15-year-old student from a local school in Mae Tha district, was discovered unresponsive at the scene. He was wearing his school sports uniform and had been thrown from the vehicle by the force of the impact. He was found lying face down at the roadside, bleeding from his mouth and nose.

Rescue workers immediately performed CPR before rushing him to Lampang Hospital. Despite all efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Initial investigations suggest the motorcycle was travelling at high speed before it slammed into the back of the sedan. Investigating officers from Khelang Nakhon Police Station have launched a full inquiry to determine the exact cause of the crash.
