Why do so many posters continually diss other posters?

Mostly it's people projecting their own problems onto others or trying to compensate for their own shortcomings, trying to make themselves feel superior by putting others down.  There's a lot of "rage therapy" to be had online.

For some reason, Thailand attracts oddballs, and they just love to take any opportunity they can to show that they're "more Thai than you" or the one "good farang" around.  being in Thailand seems to bring out a lot of insecurities in some.

What I find very interesting is how so many people appear to be wealthy and successful, yet still carry around so much resentment and prejudice.  It's really a wonder that with all their success they're still lacking in so many areas and still want to lash out at others.

Its like a modern letters to the editor. People whingeing.

Nah, I've never noticed the wealthy being happier than the poor.

Having more, just seems to make them want more.

The problem with being filthy rich are the number of flunkeys and hanger ons and bodyguards and accountants you need. Total annoyance

So 2 members have posted thumbs down Emoji's on my thread would they like to to post there reason for the thumbs down ?

There are a couple of Usual Suspects on AN that mistook you for an elitist snob what with your use of proper English and complete sentences.   OOoops ... I have to rescind that opinion ... you used "there" instead of "their"

You make a good point, money definitely does not by happiness, it does allow us to address our problems, and it allows us more freedom, but it most definitely does not buy contentment or fulfillment. It is up to us to figure that out and money is only a small piece of that puzzle.

For the benefit of the mods that was humour.

As a young guy I did a lot of work in the UK, and I kinda turned into an American Anglofile and love the humor

One of my favorite jibes was; Wales, where the men are men and the sheep are scared

I think even in the days of Jesus, Elvis, the Beatles and Muhammad Ali, not every single thing was reduced to one person.

It's really extraordinary how magnetic and compelling Trump is as a pro or con, that everything ends up about him. Maybe the only other person who managed this was Adolf Hitler, but of course I was not alive then. I can imagine he's the only one who possibly topped Trump in this regard.

Charlie Chaplin made a movie about Hitler, maybe Sasha Baron-Cohen will make one about Trump.

The Apprentice was a great movie about the goombah. A fairly accurate portrayal based on the multitude of people that I spoke with who were in commercial real estate back in New York in the 1980s, and had direct dealings with him.

The most common antidote I heard was that after an 8-hour closing session with the guy, selling a building they really needed to sell, they felt as if they had been in prison for a year and had been tagged by every single cellmate.

I don;'t think it did him justice. Trump the Movie would have to be a court room drama, a gangster movie, a war movie perhaps, a political drama of course, and obviously a love story with super models.

No sure about this. I feel very secure about things like men shouldn't be able to compete in women's sports.

So you only secure about one thing in your life and even that is not about you but about others.

The truth, yes, BS needs looking into, after all, that is what a forum is for.

But, funnily enough, I was just thinking about you, as cannot recall every upsetting yourself. I could be wrong, PM me the details, or I will not sleep tonight......😧

And you would buy the movie on all formats and watch it every day

I see this in the forums all the time .........

Posters looking down on guys living in Pattaya, elderly, guys living on a pension, living in a rented condo, supporting a woman and her family, men spending time in bars, or smoking weed/tobacco, etc.

Why not just enjoy your own life and stop looking for fault or judging other people?

Because the forum would die and you just know it.

Ok, let´s sort it out, right?

Looking down on people living in Pattaya: I think that is wrong. What most posters here say is bad things about the city, all the bad elements and the rising criminality. Not looking down on regular people living there, more than state that we can´t understand how people chose to liv there. But that´s only our opinion, and not looking down on anyone.

Elderly guys living on pension. Who is looking down on that? It´s just regular retired people. When we look down on something, it´s more like we see to the economy, and find out that there are quite many who have moved to Thailand with not enough money. That´s a very stupid thing to do! That, does not mean it´s wrong to live on pension.

Looking down on people living in a rented condo??? Where have you seen that?

Supporting a woman and her family. Posters here are not looking down on people doing that in general. What some are looking down on, is when we read stories of huge amounts. That´s basically to make a person wake up before it´s too late. After that, we all have different opinions, and are free to express our opinions. That´s not looking down on all people in a genre. It´s focusing on specific threads and specific cases.

After that, spending time in bars or smoking. Also here, not looking down, but expressing our opinion.

You know, all the above, is things people do in a forum. It´s called general discussions.

What does politics have to do with this thread? You just can´t help yourself, right?

How about looking down on those who use an agent to get their annual extension?

Asking for a friend.

you forgot to mention the russian infiltrated in the forum @frank83628 and the one called @dinsdale thus agree with the 4 of them, they do make everything personal and when one disagree with them then the option is to refer to anybody as a leftist but they think they are smarter than anybody else

:cheesy: Russian. Get off the juice mate.
