Warnings when entering YouTube app on Android phone

Featured Replies

Recently I've received 2 warning messages on my Android phone when using the YouTube app.

1)  33% of your phone has been compromised. Download this anti-virus app immediately.

2)  Warning. You need to update your pdf reader immediately. The pic is Adobe. I don't even have Adobe.

I simply ignored both messages & certainly didn't click on install or update. Anyone else received these messages.

Strange it happens only in the YouTube phone app.

If you do not understand in 2025 that this is a scam or an attempt to get you to download an exploit, you should not be using the internet unsupervised

Which is why I didn't click on update or download. It's annoying. Just wanted to know if anyone else had these messages on their YouTube app.
