• Yes, some dislike foreigners for a number of prejudiced reasons, but this isn't the way things are handled by men.

• they don't like farangs with superiority complexes running around like they own the joint.

The above are a few comments that caught my eye.

Anywhere in the world, in touristic places where liquor, drugs etc are rampant, no one can sport a gentleman like demeanor. TBH, I doubt a real gentleman would be present around those places!

 

What makes a man sport a superiority complex, and run around like they own the joint (especially is a foreign country) ? - absolute ignorance & stupidity IMHO.

Most times, these are the very characters that are involved in these obnoxious situations and paint a bad image on the majority of foreigners.

 

So... is it very surprising that most locals dislike for foreigners? Is it really rocket science to understand these situations? Locals are cowards and foreigners are well behaved gentlemen? All the time, every time?

Explain to me why a pack of Thais has to Attack 1 tourist who might be drunk and unable to defend himself. They see a Tourist and like a pack of Soi dogs they all join in. When have you ever seen a 1 on 1 Fight. They have to go in Mob handed and carrying a stick to beat them when there on the ground. How many videos have surfaced of Security staff beating the crap out of a drunken tourist ? even they all join in the kicking.

The initial report came from Social Media, so its somewhat of an 'opinion' rather than a series of verifiable facts.

Nevertheless, that information could well be true, but without doubt a lot of the 'back-story' is missing... 

 

Even with an obnoxious back-story, IF what is reported is factual, and 'one' of the two men, did slap a woman in the bar,  then I'd agree, he received his comeuppance - Or, are we to believe both men slapped the woman in the bar ? so they both deserved the kicking.

 

You could have been out when a Western idiot (lets call him Malc) was the victim of correct identification and a girl spat on him, he reacted with a slap, and by accociation simply because you were sat next to him you were both dragged out of the bar and beaten...    Served you right, self inflicted ??

 

Of course, a lot of whatiffery in that...  but without 'leadup information' served them right and 100% self inflicted may not be accurate - we just don't know...    We have a video of two guys getting a kicking, an "he said" report and a bunch of blood thirsty boomers wetting themselves.

About a week has passed since this incident took place.  Has there been any follow-up information about what happened or the nationality of the two guys who got beaten?  I know it's been suggested they were Jews, but that seemed to be based on what could be a sarcastic question  on a  Facebook page rather than hard information.   Just wondering.

Everything in Thailand and Asia on general revolves around the concept of "face", you do whatever you like as long as face is kept, of everyone around. Once the concept of face is thrown out the window, anything can happen, even Thais ganging up in a fight against farangs.

Exactly.  What the foreigners did was certainly wrong, but the Thais brought it 20 levels higher.  The Thai cowards can't even do it 1-1 or 2-1 against a drunk person.
