In 15 years you didn't realize the app uses the internet?

I don't know anything about Krungsri, but my apps for UOB & Kasikorn are separate from their internet banking. I'm sure that's what the OP meant. Also, SCB does not have internet banking anymore, but they still have the app for banking transactions.

Is this only for foreigner accounts?

Wife's Krungsri online account doesn't show that message.

No message shows when I log in online, just a reminder that there is a phone app available also.

Whether its an app on a mobile device or a web site on the PC, they all use the internet. The apps these days are far more user friendly and popular.

The "I don't need no app" people must hate this, was always going to happen

As do the "I absolutely hate banking apps" people like myself (& @TallGuyJohninBKK by the look of things). Thank goodness my account with Krungsri is my dedicated 800k one for IMM purposes - so, as far as I'm concerned, they can stick their app where the sun never shines.😡

Nope.  No have.

Tried English and Thai versions, various pages.

No indication the online service will go away.

Found it!

There is nothing at all shown when logging on to your online account.

I went to the home page, nothing at the top, no big banner indicating shutdown.

But scroll down, way down........past the boarding card promotion, past the ATM promotion, past the foreign exchange rates, past the wealth generation, past the young generation, past the krungsri payroll............there you find announcements.

Maybe you got an email from a scammer and downloaded a clever pirate clone of the Krungsri app onto your cellphone?

Don't make your self a fool.

And it's not me that got the message from the WEBSITE of Krungsri.

And not a message or mail but prominently on the website.

Do you really understand what the thread is about?

Nothing to do with the app e.g.

Read from top.

It's not prominent, dear.

It's hidden in the announcements on the main page, visible if you scroll down 2/3 of the way.............not something anyone would do when logging in.

It's here on the homepage:

https://www.krungsri.com/en/personal

nothing yet........OH!!!

Now why would anyone logging in go past the top splash of the website?

You would click "Sign In" and go to your account, where there are no announcements.

This will be a bigly surprise for many come October!

I ended up installing Bluestacks Android emulator on my PC to run Apps.  It's a PITA, but beats dealing with a tiny screen.

Tell us more about this, I am interested

While I usually use the banks' apps on my phone, what bothers me is not having a fallback especially while being outside of Thailand. Not easy or outright impossible (depending on the bank) to set up the app on a new phone if need be.

Okay, so here it is

https://www.krungsri.com/en/about-krungsri/about-us/overview/announce/kol-will-be-discontinued

Not many online users will find this, and will get this bigly surprise

Please note that all your scheduled transactions will be cancelled automatically and you will be able to access your transaction history through Krungsri Online (KOL) until September 30, 2025. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The link in the OP took me straight to a page where it was prominently displayed.

Yes, it's now prominent in the OP, but how many Thai Krungsri customers read AN?  And that's NOT a direct link from the top of the main page, it's a sublink under "Digital Banking."  And it doesn't give you the detailed information that your automatic payments will be cancelled.  Surprise!

It's NOT prominent on the website, hidden 2/3 of the way down amongst the clutter, where few online users would find it.

Most online users would go to the mainpage and immediately sign in to their account, where there is no announcement anywhere.

This calls for a new hub.

Of course; but there is a difference between using your app on your phone and sitting down at your computer. Didn't you realise there was a difference between Internet Banking and using your app? They are two completely different mediums.

The Internet is very old and cumbersome but banking apps are small and efficient. I will continue using the latter; happy in the knowledge that Internet Banking does NOT apply to my banking app.

I HATE that... I HATED it too when SCB recently did the same thing.

I really dislike trying to do personal banking stuff on a mobile phone screen. I'd 100% rather be doing it via my personal computer, large monitor and web browser at home.

Install Bluestacks Android Emulator on your PC, then you can put all your phone banking apps onto that. Big screen and mouse.

Sorry impulse, didn't see your earlier advice. Works fine for me.
