In the early hours of June 10, a 28-year-old woman was arrested following a car accident in Pattaya after leaving the city's vibrant Walking Street. The woman's vehicle, a white Toyota Altis, collided with construction equipment, including PVC pipes and wooden scaffolding. The crash resulted in significant damage to the vehicle and the construction site.

The incident unfolded around 3.30am in a designated construction zone at Runway Market on Pattaya Second Road, located in the Nong Prue area of Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province. Police Sub-Lieutenant Saijai Kamjulla from the Mueang Pattaya Police Station was dispatched to the scene to assess the situation.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the car's front end severely damaged with debris strewn across the vicinity. The driver, identified as Phon, was found to be in an intoxicated state. She admitted to travelling from Rayong to Pattaya for leisure purposes. After enjoying a night out on Walking Street, she attempted to retrieve her vehicle for the journey home but lost control, leading to the crash.

Police conducted a routine breathalyser test, measuring Phon's blood alcohol content at 139 milligrammes, well above the legal limit. As a result, she was promptly taken into custody for further legal proceedings.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with drunk driving and the potential consequences not only for the driver but also for public safety and property. Authorities continue to urge drivers to make responsible choices, particularly given the ongoing construction work in high-traffic areas like Pattaya.

Obnoxious wretch...  at least she didn't kill or injure any innocent victims....

Its high time anyone caught DUI to such an extent is given an automatic jail sentence....

..... thats not a minor oversight or a mistake....   .... thats going out, drinking and not giving a rats-arse who she could kill on the way home....

.... and that behavior needs extreme measures to mitigate as its a major killer....
