Do you remember the cryptic slogan years ago 'Brazil is the future'? Well the message behind that is around 80% of highly mongrelized people living in hopeless squalor, around 20% of people who are mostly White/light skinned who live in fairly orderly conditions and have limited protection and are kept in place by the fear of being dropped into the bottom 80% cesspit, and then 1% of the populace who live in a luxurious bubble and are highly protected by forces. The US, Canada, Western Europe are definitely on the way to that and I have a feeling parts of the Middle East, Eastern Europe and East Asia will also meet the same fate.

And I think anybody with a rational point of view would argue that those were very extreme events, and the current riot, with a population of 300 people, and 2,000 plus law enforcement is anything but extreme. Though Trump, his nimwit Hegseth, and many on this forum, are doing their best to pretend it is.

"and the current riot , with a population of 300 people". 300 people,!? And what planet are you and a few  others reporting from?. That's all right this deluded denial is what lost the last election for the democrats--- And counting

The infamous “troll” accusation

It has no meaning anymore.  Just like Nazi, dictator, facist, racist, baiting.

Troll can be added to the list.

Oh dear, you are confused again, but to be expected, as a Trump voter.....🤥..........🤕

Newsom is incompetent and a failure.

Once upon a time I thought “Moon Unit” Jerry Brown was incompetent.

Newsom has surpassed him like a trans dude racing against a biological girl.

And now, as expected.  STAND BY! (drum roll)

It’s all Trumps fault.

Looks like Newsom had the last laugh and Trump as the laughing stock after the Federal judge ruling.:cheesy:

That doesn’t take away the fact Newsom is an incompetent fool.

If he would of implemented his guard in the first place, Trump wouldn’t of had to.

Got to be hard to defend Trump escalating the peaceful protests and now spreading to other states. Hope it wouldn't ruin his North Korea style birthday parade.:cheesy:

Perhaps the goons actions are not resonating with the America public, who are not accustomed to the military acting against Americans?

Looks like Trump just got slapped down again by the Judiciary, of course the most litigious man in history will appeal and hopefully the appeal will not be successful. American troops do not belong on American streets.

A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration's deployment of California's National Guard to Los Angeles and called the move illegal.

The judge's order to return control of the troops to California Governor Gavin Newsom will not go into effect immediately and the administration has filed an appeal.

The state sued President Donald Trump on Monday over his order to deploy the troops without Newsom's consent.

Trump said he was sending the troops - who are typically under the governor's authority - to stop LA from "burning down" in protests against his immigration crackdown. Local authorities have argued they have the situation in hand and do not need troops.

US District Judge Charles Breyer said the question presented by California's request was whether Trump followed the law set by Congress on the deployment of a state's National Guard.

"He did not," the judge wrote in his decision. "His actions were illegal... He must therefore return control of the California National Guard to the Governor of the State of California forthwith."

But the judge stayed the order until Friday afternoon to give the Trump administration time to appeal against it. The administration did so almost immediately after the order was issued.

Newsom posted on social media on Thursday afternoon that "the court just confirmed what we all know — the military belongs on the battlefield, not on our city streets".

Ahh yes , supporting Newson  - while CA burns because of his failed policies

spidermike007 is just so predictable, are you still stuck in Ohio 🙂

It is high time for the insurrection act in order to override this sap of a so called governor. That is going to send in the regular military to take control of this mess in whatever states it is necessary. These anarchists are about to learn they are not in Portland any more. It's in the works. And I sure do like Ms Bondi.Screenshot_2025-06-13-12-15-37-36.jpg.dc5bc622d1a09cb9d69d4df98bdabca7.jpg

This is not a matter of Newsom versus Trump, this is a matter of democracy versus authoritarianism, this is a matter of free speech versus an overreaching government that appears to want to censor anything that even resembles criticism.

Please explain to me how you can support those actions?

Not a threat anymore. It’s been here.

As predictable as sunrise/sunset.

As an outsider it seems one side can no longer listen to the other, there is just irrational name calling.

This is no longer a mature democracy and scary if it is the leader of the frèe world.

The police chief said he was overwhelmed.

No, he did not. He explicitly stated they had things under  control. As thousands of people gather in downtown Los Angeles for a fourth day of demonstrations against widespread immigration crackdowns across Southern California, Chief of Police Jim McDonnell called the deployment of hundreds of U.S. Marines a “significant logistical and operational challenge.”

At a Sunday evening press conference, Chief McDonnell told reporters that law enforcement in L.A. County has a long history of working together and he would have gone through a number of other options, including mutual aid, before he requested the assistance of the guard.

In a statement released this afternoon, the police chief said the addition of U.S. Marines will further complicate law enforcement’s ability to handle the demonstrations.

“The arrival of federal military forces in Los Angeles – absent clear coordination – presents significant logistical and operational challenges for those of us charged with safeguarding this city. The Los Angeles Police Department, alongside our mutual aid partners, has decades of experience managing large-scale public demonstrations, and we remain confident in our ability to do so professionally and effectively,” McDonnell said. “That said, our top priority is the safety of both the public and the officers on the ground. We are urging open and continuous lines of communication between all agencies to prevent confusion, avoid escalation, and ensure a coordinated, lawful, and orderly response during this critical time.”
