I can't answer all the questions, especially because each immigration office is different.  Every immigration office will accept an application for extension 30 days before your existing stamp expires, and some will accept it at 45 days.  So around 45 days early, go to the immigration office and ask them for their handout for a marriage extension, so you can get the exact requirements for your office, and you can find out if you can apply soon or have to wait until 30 days.

Agents don't work with marriage extensions because the local immigration offices cannot process them. They are all sent to regional HQ for approval.

Your daughter should not be a factor as you are not applying for an extension based on supporting a child.

If there is a visit, normally they would want both you and your spouse there. This is something they will plan ahead, it's not normally a surprise visit, as they want you both there and sometimes even a neighbor or two, or maybe juristic person if you're in a condo.

I believe you can get your marriage certificate from any amphur.

"Agents don't work with marriage extensions because the local immigration offices cannot process them. They are all sent to regional HQ for approval."

Thank you for that info - I often wondered why agents did not do extensions based on Marriage. 🙏

Been going to Samut Prakan office for 18 years, they have never asked for the bank letter the same day, including  when there last Monday. They have always accepted the bank letter dated the day before and once a few days before.

Maybe their requirements got lost in translation. Maybe they only meant, that the bank book update should be from the same day. But then I would have to visit the bank twice.

They always want the bank book update same day, the letter not.

Were might one be that they would have to "trek" thousands of kilometers to an immigration office?

Assume you meant "Where", the "km" was nothing more than an emphasis on "metre".

The old Sri Ratcha location wasn't particularly easy for their part of the province, but the new one is a bit of awkward if things are not quite right.  Decided to go out of town into no mans land.

My only question would be about the TM30.  Would an updated "Receipt of Notification" suffice?

Do you think that my landlord would want to give up his ID card and Tambien Baan at the IO.  Would signed copies suffice?

They might, but it says: Copy of landlord’s ID card and house registration with certified true copies.

I would call and ask before I wasted a day going there.

As has been stated, nearly every IO has different requirements. I got a yearly extension 3 times, then had a 2 year break & applied last week in Cha Am. Interestingly they required an extra 4 new forms, a re-notification of address even though we'ved lived at the same place for 10 years plus some forms in Thai only which I believe give the Thai Police permission to fact check. This is in addtion to one of the new forms being STM.11 Consent Form for Fact Checking. the full list of requirements at Cha Am is below.

Note the following points for Cha Am:

> You can apply 30 days before your visa expires

> Bank letter & statements (B100 each) must be signed & stamped by the bank & no more than 7 days before the application date

> If the letter & statement are issued on the day of the application - all good. If not you may be asked to deposit money in the account & show the deposit slip as proof. Not the the total amounts must agree.

> Amphur Issued KR.2 (B20) must be no more than 7 days old.

> Additionally, Cha Am requires their own form called "Residential Certificate" which is quite different to TM.28 or TM.30

> They also require 6 photos of both spouses & will send out the Thai Immigration Police to take additional photos of both spouses plus a Thai Immigration Police Officer & one of your witnesses.

> A HAND-DRAWN Map - not a Google Map printout

> For a first application, 2 witnesses are required  with copies of their ID Card & House Book. For subsequent applications, only one witness is required & it is preferrable to use one of the two for the 1st application. I'm not sure as I was "documented out" but I think my two witnesses also had to sign the Thai Police form giving the police permission to fact check the witnesses.

Sorry if the images below are blurry - can't seem to get them any better.

There is now a form STM10 and STM11.
They are not listed on the requirements lists that I have from Chaeng Wattana and Hua Hin.
The lists are therefore not up to date.
The list posted by Lapun a few minutres ago has them included.

Think this is just another "lost in translation"

Certified for immigration can/is Signed copy of document in question.

Be that a copy of id card or whatever..

Here they seem to be asking about a TM30.  Would an updated "Receipt of Notification" suffice from my currently filed TM30?

If you've already filed a TM30, then just a copy of the 'receipt of notification' is sufficient, which is usually stapled in the back of your passport.
