Qatari Man Convicted of Rape at London Hospital After Claiming No Prior Contact With Women

 

A Qatari national who raped a woman in a London hospital toilet had never interacted with women outside his family, a court has heard. Nasser al-Gherainiq, a 27-year-old camel herder from a conservative tribe in Qatar, was convicted of two counts of rape at Southwark Crown Court. The attack occurred at Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea on August 25, 2023, while al-Gherainiq was in the UK to receive treatment for a rare heart condition.

 

Al-Gherainiq, who denied the charges of rape but admitted to sexual assault and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, dragged his victim into a lavatory cubicle and assaulted her. The court heard that he told the woman he needed to use the toilet before forcing her into the stall.

 

The victim, who has remained anonymous, gave a statement that described the psychological toll of the assault. “I was so scared. I felt frozen with fear. I couldn’t go anywhere. Although the incident lasted a few minutes, it felt like ages to me. I was very shocked to hear it was only five minutes,” she said. The trauma of the experience led her to withdraw from daily life. “A few days after the incident I had huge anxiety and fear. I could not leave the house. It has been a lonely and isolating year for me. I am not the outgoing woman I used to be. I am withdrawn and highly anxious and overly cautious, especially when I’m on my own in an unfamiliar environment. My life has never been the same. My family still do not know what happened to me. I am so close to my family.”

 

In his defence, al-Gherainiq’s barrister, Jane Bickerstaff KC, argued that the accused came from a highly sheltered environment and had minimal exposure to modern life. “Until July 2023 he had never left Qatar. He would have had minimal experience engaging with women outside a family context. The only woman he would have had any meaningful contact with is his mother,” she said. Bickerstaff also added, “Limited visits to Doha and a preference for a desert environment curtailed his exposure to urban and modern societal norms. This defendant would have had no experience whatsoever of interacting with a woman. We submit that he was equivalent to an immature and inexperienced adolescent. He completely failed to understand her true feelings.”

 

The court heard that following the completion of his sentence, al-Gherainiq will not remain in the UK. “He will immediately go back to Qatar,” Bickerstaff stated. “There is no reason for him to apply to remain here.”

 

Judge and jury were told that al-Gherainiq’s background as a camel herder from an isolated and conservative tribal setting may have contributed to his inability to comprehend boundaries or proper social behaviour, particularly with women. Despite these claims, the jury found him guilty of rape. Al-Gherainiq has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at a later date.

I'm struggling to understand how exactly a Qatari camel herder found himself in the UK being treated in a UK (presumably NHS) hospital, or how exactly he was able to fund this rape-cation.   Who paid for this and if it is the UK taxpayer then why is the whitehall official who approved this not in jail for aiding and abetting the rape of these women?

Qatar pays for the  medical care of its nationals. The large sums collected from Gulf nations allows the  NHS to offer free healthcare to UK nationals who are on social assistance.

So this is a lie.   The NHS budget comes (extortionately) from UK taxpayers to the tune of £192 billion which pays for healthcare (it is not free) for UK nationals on social assistance and of course illegal immigrants, foreign nationals and tourists who need medical care.   

 

So back to my original question.  Who paid for this camel herder to come to the UK and rape these women?

Yes he is and I am sure the UK taxpayer will have to fund his stay at a cost of hundreds of thousands of pounds in a comfortable prison for the next several years rather than spending that money on something useful, but this is not good enough any more.   Too many girls are getting raped by foreign nationals (disproportionately so) and questions have to be asked as to what they are doing in the country and who approved their entry and how someone like a camel herder was able to fund it.    

 

I'd go as far to suggest that no male from any country that requires women to be covered from head to toe should be allowed to enter the UK (or any western country) as the men from those areas/cultures obviously cannot control themselves when confronted with an uncovered western woman's arm or leg.   It's long overdue that we acknowledge that not all cultures are equal and policies/laws are designed around this blatantly obvious fact.

The 150% fee schedule for services rendered not subject to  agreed upon rates under any service provision agreement would have to be magically waived too.

There were 232,550 certificates issued as part of the Low Income Scheme in 2023/24 in England. It covers 1) prescription costs, 2) dental costs, 3) eye care costs, 4) healthcare travel costs, and 5) wigs and fabric supports.

Any amount collected from a non NHS qualifying person or someone not covered by an NHS  agreement, is charged at a higher rate than what is used within the UK. The common charge is 150% of the fee schedule. On top of that are administrative fees. Every year, hundreds, if not thousands of patients are sent to the UK for specialized care. The fees paid generates a profit and the profit is used to subsidize the medical care received by UK residents who contribute nothing to the  UK.

 

You are presenting the accused as some sort of freeloading person, when the contrary may not apply. This does not excuse the alleged crime, but it  puts your attempt to present him as some sort of freeloading refugee in the rubbish bin where it belongs. The UK does not have a problem with migrants from the Gulf states. They are typically in the UK on  bonafide visas. Unlike most  migrant source nations, the Gulf states do not interfere with deportations and are often helpful with repatriation..
