Good these people really need to get a life along with their fantasy tax ideas, visa fantasy ideas. You really wonder who is on drugs us or them.

You were right before when you said it’s really just one person, or maybe a handful of conservatives, driving all of this. What they’re trying to do doesn’t make sense on any level, not economically, politically, socially, or civilly. So you start to wonder, why even push it when it's going to harm the livelihood of tens of thousands of people. Is it all just about political rivalries and personal vendettas? Or is it about serving personal interests, either of those in government or connected to the alcohol industry? If it’s the government itself, then everything could end quickly if the current administration collapses soon. But if it’s the alcohol cartels behind it, this could remain a source of conflict for a long time.

I'm all for legalization but this above is an oversimplification without any consideration of alternative viewpoints.  It is FAR from one person pushing for changes to how pot is sold and smoked.  There are many others reasons that are not dark or conspiratorial  that may be behind the possible enforcement of existing and new laws.

People that have  used weed like myself need to drop the righteous attitude and start being solution oriented.  There has to be a better alternative than the haphazard weed legalization a few years ago.  It just took off and everybody I think was amazed with the magnitude of the weed dispensaries and public smoking.  Too much for many to digest and telling them to go to hell if you don't like it was the prevailing sentiment.  What is happening now is the result.

I agree - there is a not insubstantial percentage of Thai people who are opposed to “legalization” and it is easy to see why, frankly.  Write a law or legislation that is more gray than black/white and, unsurprisingly, a bit of chaos has ensued.  I have no idea what the solution is at this point but would guess that whatever sticks, few people on either side will be happy.
