That's a rather misleading statement, maybe in Bangkok where the resident population is substantial but certainly not in the resort regions like Phuket, Samui etc etc. The current real problem is there are just too many restaurants because the authorities exercise no control but thats Thailand isn't it! . New restaurants just keep opening so obviously when low season comes around many go out of business. It will continue like this until city Mayors start implementing control of new business's starting up, its called "Town planning"
