Thailand wants an unstable Myanmar

Featured Replies

Civil war in Burma creates a steady stream of migrants ready to work as slaves for Thailand. It's the reason things stay so cheap. China also wants a divided Myanmar, it means they get cheap access to major resources.

America/CIA does the same with Mexico and the cartel.

Agree, as TH has plenty of legal immigrants in the workforce, and jobs available here for anyone from surrounding countries that want them.  Wages are better here in TH for the unskilled laborers.

If anything, the opposite, and instability in MM has caused the influx of unwanted immigrants on the western border.

Sure but they have to pay legal migrants minimum wage along with adhering to other regulations. Illegal hires are cheaper and can't complain. Maybe they're "unwanted" by the government to save face but business owners profit big time, especially in agriculture and food processing jobs.

You're correct, there is a labor shortage in Thailand. Legal or not, the perfect way to fill in this gap is with desperate people fleeing danger.

Nothing like exploiting desperate people.   Except for one thing, the desperate ones, are mostly coming across and going right to the refugee camps on the border.  If even allowed in.

The ones ending up as laborers, are probably being trafficked in, through the border check points.

Complain about corruption & trafficking, until it benefits you 👍
