Something I have noticed,

 

Imagine you see a nice-looking bike; it's got all the bells and whistles, and a nice-looking exhaust. You see it going down the road, and it sounds great accelerating, but when off the throttle, no over-run sound?

 

Another one, 

A Honda Wave once again with all the bells and whistles and exhaust, sounds great, but again, you hear no overrun?

 

Now, a bike with a clutch lever can be pulled in so no overrun sound, but a Honda Wave? Do some Thais hit a neutral with the gear pedal?

 

Regarding both, why do Thais do this? No overrun and just coast with the clutch in?

From how far away or when riding. The engine still makes a noise on overrun but only until the auto clutch disengages. F.I. shuts off the fuel so that may effect what you are looking for. Unless you are looking for some Jake Brake kind of sound.

What? 

if you pull the clutch lever on a motorbike, the engine will go back to idle speed, let the clutch out again, and it will go back to the revs it was at. If you're in 3rd gear, say and you just come off the throttle, then you will get an over run and you will get engine braking.

If its a Honda Wave for example,e if you're in 4th gear and you come off the throttle, then the engine will stop accelerating and then the revs will act like an engine brake, so you get an over run.

 

What I see and hear a lot of engines at idle and no over run.

On a wave and other semi autos  you can push the gear pedal  halfway down between 2 gear ratios to achieve a pulled in clutch effect...that's how they can do their wheelies..and how I nearly came a cropper ! 🫣
