I've never bothered, but did notice the story has no actual numbers of deaths.

Which makes me think there are so few that it's just another disease scare story.

My pal was bitten by a dog while walking near wat doing Suthep two months back, he didn't bother either.

If you had read the story you would have seen the number.

Yes, it's very low, but I am not going to explain the necessity of rabies vaccine.

Go and get yourself bitten!

I wonder what the Anti-vaxxers do when they are bitten ?....     one of them disbelieves Rabies Virus is even a virus and that it does not even exist...

I'm referring to a handful of folk on this forum who are 100% against ALL vaccines...   any...  and that goes for Measles (MMR), Polio etc...   (so not just a covid vax discussion - which again is sep

  • Define anti vaxxer?   One that does not take any vaccine, or one that does not take a particular vaccine ?   You seem to be if you aren't with us, you must be against us.

You got your answer 5 posts later, by Britman

Love story problems from math class:

assuming when someone dies of rabies they are "all dead" not "mostly dead" aka a whole number...

If rabies are up 3X from before, what whole number times 3 equals 7?

Is this "the new math"?

Similarly, if I were bitten by a dog in the UK, I would be less inclined to seek rabies vaccination, given that rabies is not present there. That said, I would still seek medical advice for other potential risks such as bacterial infections.

Quite. A couple of weeks ago there was a headline news article in the UK about a woman that died from rabies having contracted it in Morocco back in Feb. Apparently she was the second to die from the disease in the last 7 years, both having contracted it abroad. Reported that she never sought medical treatment following a scratch from a puppy.

With Morocco averaging about 18 cases a year I didn't bother with the vaccine.

There has been a threefold increase in reported rabies cases in cats and dogs compared to last year.

I must admit I have never thought about getting rabies from a cat. I might think twice about stroking on the odd puss. But I suppose the infection would come from a bite rather than a scratch or do you have to watch scratches as well.

A scratch can be fatal. Anything that breaks the skin. It doesn't have to be a bite.

As the sad case of a woman dying in the UK from rabies recently after being scratched a puppy in Morocco demonstrates.

True!

I take the only people who succumb to rabies are the ones low on vitamin A?
