NYT Report Says Netanyahu Prolonged War on Gaza to Stay in Power

Yes, highlight the bit where I say he should be put in prison, and as you claimed, before following the justice system.

At no time have I said Netanyahu should be put in prison before following the justice system.

Which is why you can’t produce any stately from me in which I say such a thing.

“jumping the gun by having him in prison before following the justice system procedure.”

In the absence of such statements, how about addressing the article in the OP?

You are the one that mentioned prison? Why? What evidence in these alleged corruptions charges convinces you he is avoiding prison? Nothing about prison in the NYT article so again I am asking you how you got to the prison accusation when he has not gone through the justice system and been convicted of anything.

I'll wait to see the evidence apparently you've got and nobody else has.

You should perhaps read the article.

Why?

3 minutes ago, Chomper Higgot said:

I believe there are threads on that.

You could have made it part of this thread .

Its rather biased just to single out Netanyahu , where others involved in the war have acted in a way that is illegal .

Just concentre on Jews and ignore Muslims atrocities .

Ignore the Muslims atrocities and point your finger at Jews

I didn’t say he’s been convicted, however, he’s not simply facing (currently on hold corruption charges), there’s a little matter of accusations before the international court too.

I don’t subscribe to the belief that neither of these serious matters presents any risk of prison.

I certainly have not said Netanyahu should be put in prison before following the justice system.

My OP is based on an article from a reputable news outlet, I did not embellish the article with anything beyond its subject matter and I’m certainly not trying to take the thread off topic.

More deflection, this article is not about the ICC arrest warrant and extending the war because of that. Again you brought up prison, it’s an inflammatory aaccusation on these alleged corruption charges that the article does not mention prison for a reason. Only you. Why?

Your OP refers to two articles which are vastly different in content

Which I explained in the OP

The primary source article is from the NYT behind a paywall, the open source link, as I explained, is a summary of the former.

I was transparent on the matter.

Have you read the Souce article from NYT or only the opinion piece summary from commondreams? There's a reason I said they are vastly different.

It’s certainly not only me.

I do hope we all read numerous sources of news on the dreadful war in Gaza to keep our selves informed, here’s Politico (a reliable and trusted news source) discussing the subject of staying out of prison:

The Israeli leader is trying to stay in office and avoid prison on corruption charges, two linked desires that have long made him vulnerable to the demands of far-right members of his governing coalition.”

Absolutely not something only I came up with.

Yes, I have a NYT subscription.

It is however not the OP.

Has that reputable news source also done an article about the Hamas leadership and whether they should be jailed or not ?

Have you yourself started a thread about that topic ?

Or just focus on Israel ?

Why don’t you start a thread in that or better still post in one of the already existing threads discussing the matter.

I certainly don’t want to participate in taking this thread off topic.

I read the NYT hit piece and at no point did they criticize Hamas for taking the hostages, at no time did they state the facts that had Hamas released the hostages as they should do the war would have been over a long time ago. Everything was about Netanyahu. But then, hey, its the NYT's what do you expect, unsourced claims, hearsay sprinkled with a dash of facts.

A bit of info on their extreme bias here:

They even paint Iran as the victim!

The NYT is wrong.  Joe Biden’s actions prolonged the war.

Joe was playing peacemaker,  he won’t be getting the Neville Chamberlain achievement  recognition for appeasing the Terrorist / Nazi   Culture of killing jews.

The article states Natanyahu extended the war to keep himself out of prison and  makes reference to opportunities to end the war that he did not take up together with acting to end a ceasefire.

   Quite a contradiction there .

Ending the ceasefire makes the war end quicker .

A ceasefire would prolong the war

If Ben N wanted to war to continue (to avoid being jailed) , then he would have agree to a long term ceasefire .

A  ceasefire would mean that the war is halted temporarily and with a ceasefire he could have remained in power and not faced any prosecution .

Ben didn't agree to a ceasefire  which means the war will end more promptly .

There goes your theory  ,back to the drawing board for you .
