A deadly shooting at Lexington's Richmond Road Baptist Church results in three deaths after a suspect's initial attack on a state trooper.

In a shocking incident on Sunday, two women were killed and two men injured in a church shooting rampage in Lexington, Kentucky. The drama unfolded after a man shot a state trooper near Blue Grass Airport and carjacked a vehicle, eventually arriving at Richmond Road Baptist Church, located 15 miles away.

The suspect, whose name remains undisclosed, was shot dead by police at the church. Preliminary investigations suggest the shooter may have known people at the church, though details remain sparse.

The deceased victims have been identified as Christina Combs, aged 34, and Beverly Gumm, aged 72.

The chaos began around 11:35 a.m. ET when the suspect opened fire on a trooper after being pulled over near the airport. Following the carjacking, the suspect reached the church, where he began shooting. Responding officers quickly acted, fatally shooting the suspect.

Police affirm there was no direct connection between the shooter and Blue Grass Airport, though the incident temporarily impacted airport operations. Flights continue as normal, with some adjustments made for passenger routing.

The men injured in the attack were taken to hospital, one remaining in critical condition while the other is stable.

The injured trooper is also reported to be in stable condition. The police chief confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and the suspect’s family is yet to be notified.

These tragic events have left the Lexington community in shock as authorities work to uncover the motives behind the rampage.

Will they ever be able to wrestle control of the madness back there?

Thoughts and prayers.

Such a pity.

Strikes me that 'prayers' aren't much use when this 'god' entity allows that kind of thing to happen in his club houses.

Not much use either in the recent Texas floods devastating Christian summer camps.Never understood how people can reconcile their faith, with such events.

Can't blame God for the rain. What's to blame is the camp manager who heard the warnings and didn't act on them, like other camps did. Also no warning sirens like other areas had. Bad things have happened all over the world since this planet was made, and people are to blame for most of them. Natural disasters will continue to happen. Not living where many of them are can save a lot of lives.

Same thing here, but the difference being very few actually care here, and fewer that can do anything about them. Murders, rapes, vehicle deaths, stabbings, shootings, mass killings, corruption, human trafficking, soi dogs running loose, gangs, people ganging up 5 against 1, all happening since Thailand started and will continue forever.

Thankfully, very little of that affects us, as expats. With the exception of traffic madness and soi dogs. I use cans of raid on them. It works.

But it all has affected expats at one time or another, or likely will, and will continue to do so. The only ones that yet haven't are human trafficking, but this does involves foreigner, mass shootings, (bombings) and this involved some foreigners.

So, no mention of the fact that this guy was a father who was denied access to his kids, and the people he shot were the ones denying him access?

And the "church" aspect of the story was just where he went looking for them...

The guy was a whackjob and he was evil.  But not some random church shooter.

Any country stupid enough to allow its citizens to walk around with fully automatic weapons (when there is not a war in the location) and elected Trump as president, TWICE, is doomed to death.

You say that now, but those AR15s are going to come in handy when the Zombies try to take over.  Or it may not be the Zombies, but I don't want to be called a racist or a phobe...  The Europeans with their fancy gun laws are just going to roll over when their newcomers revolt.

The old peace loving Christians shooting each other again.

You don't know the story, do you?  Fredwiggy linked it.  The church is not relevant to the story.

When was the last time Thailand bombed another country?

When was the last year that America didn’t bomb another country?

Time to pack your bags and move on Fred. You are not wanted here.

Ok, i sense a little racism here but you are trying to hide it!

So it is the new comers that are a threat now?

So when your dear leader deports them all(will be done in a few more weeks for sure) you are saying there will me no more need for citizens to have assault rifles?

Kind of stirring in the mud here?

How many new comers in Europe have mass murdered school children ?

I will bet you my next paycheck it is a hell of a lot less than your law abiding US citizens!
