Some of you may remember the homeless German man who hung around the LK Metro-Soi Diana area in 2010-11.

He was around Nana in the months prior to that, often on the steps of Family Mart. I think he finally outstayed his welcome and someone was assigned to relocate him one night.

May I suggest you buy yourself a sense of humour?   It makes the world a bit less depressing.

May I suggest you try saying something funny then.

Immigration should send him back to his country and blacklist him for the standard 10 years

Why 10 years? How do you know he has overstayed?

I'm a bit worried if these Iranians team up and go on a robbing spree which as Shia Muslims is perfectly acceptable if their victims are "infidels" ie non Muslim.

The tone of Pattaya may well change.

I would worry about the thousands that are coming, they care not a jot about Thailand or your culture

just look at what is happening in Europe

In Europe they don't have to check in every 90 days, there isn't really a comparison. The guy is " living" on a beach; he hasn't been given a hotel room like in England.  Even then he was kicked of the beach! LOL

100% right you are.  Leave people, who aren’t hurting other people, alone.

what town is that? In Thailand there is very little real homelessness because people can stay at any temple and be fed as well...

Pattaya, that is the forum we are in. What is 'unreal' homelessness? Do the temples chuck people out during daytime to wander and lay in the streets, like the Salvation army hostels did?

An easy way to prevent these kinds coming in on tourist visas without sufficent funds to stay in a hotel  is to make it a requirement to show evidence of a certain amount of money available depending on your length of stay.

Isn't there a requirement of this already, used to be 20,000 baht, but that was for a 30 day exempt!

Not to worry. They confine themselves largely to Pattaya.

Pattaya, Huxleyian open air prison

If it's still 20,000 thb that's a bit low so could be increased a bit as things get dearer.

Residents have called on relevant authorities to take more concrete action and implement long-term solutions

They already have it, it's called the detention centre.

Iranians are in the strictest category needing to apply for visa before travelling. So I would assume he fulfilled conditions for a certain short stay?

But as often people just waste their money on chicks and booze and find themselves broken.

As another poster writes, he has been around Nana Bangkok for months?

Does someone really believes he is on legal stay??

Authorities obviously uninterested to act.

Another candidate for endless stay in detention prison? Cheaper on the beach

No financial gain to be had = no action by the "authorities". Had this been an "upmarket " tourist parking a SUV on the sand, however ,,,,,,,,,😁 time and motion (money)

Yes I agree, but if reports that he is going around pestering people for money are true, then that is just not on.

I thought you needed to provide address of your stay in Thailand, or just another rule to break or be dismissed, 55555

Maybe he did when he first landed, he could have stayed somewhere for a couple of days,

So many of them these days.

I look out of place.

Would you blend in?

So, you should leave the country then - apparently, you're too good for it.
How about Dubai, if you can afford it?

Of course, we can pretend there are no homeless people in the US, Sweden, etc. Everyone is a saint, right?

at least he is in the safe area.

That reminds me of the homeless Thai guy I rescued from drowning about two years ago; also in a safe area, opposite Pattaya Klang. Everyone else just ignored him while he was floating head down in the water...

This is extraordinary, a remarkable comment from Bitcoin Boy.

The new guy, joins asean now on Saturday, straight into it, antagonizing others here with his hostility.

He rudely jumps into a conversation.

Some here can't mind their own business .

Perhaps Bitcoin Boy is a previous banned member, now returning under another user name. 😂
