Actually it's not the owner, it's the agent company that has 335 listings and they all say the same thing.

Plenty of condo owners happy to rent to foreigners.

The advertisement is an exercise in stupidity. If the agent does not want foreigners, why pay good money to advertise the fact in English? Just advertise in Thai.

Maybe because owners/agents need to do TM30s for foreigners plus possible reluctance because of language barriers.

I’ve had Thai agents immediately hang up on me when phoning about rentals using English. TGF  needed to make the calls.

I’ve had owners refuse to put leases in my name. They asked for TGF name instead.

If that is the case, it's poor business practice BUT, living in a country (UK) where such a practice would be illegal I would actually support an owner who wanted to do this.

Why should I not be able to choose to whom I rent my home?

It's actually a form of reverse discrimination brought on by today's "woke" nonsense.  IMO the pendulum has swung too far.

Why is not renting to foreigners discriminatory ?

I wouldn't want to rent to a foreigner.

it's their building, their unit, their business, so why should someone tell them what customers they must accept.

I was a landlord, and would only rent to certain people, and not to others.   Along with seller of firearms, and would not sell to certain people, whether they had a legal right to buy / own or not.  My business, and nobody tells me how to run it.

With respect, may I ask WHY?

Please remember you are living in Thailand with a legal system that protects Thais. Farangs are irrelevant.
