There are certain idiots who hold a grudge and stick a thumbs down on any posts by the person they disagree with/dislike.   They will put it on posts they don't even read, they will put it o

How about this???....putting a thumbs down  automatically opens a text box into which you must post a response of no less than twenty words.....otherwise the forum is locked for you.

Says the reigning site champion with an average of 300+ thumbs down per day. Well, at least nobody can say you didn't earn it, Susan.

Wordy Ai generated post removed.

Use your own words please.

I think that anyone who uses emojis and likes to get their point across is a moron

This is kind of funny.

Another forum I post on already implements those rules, and there is ZERO trolling or fighting, despite them having many more posters than AN.

Obviously they aren't funded by Google advertising, so every click doesn't count.

But they are free of the extreme puritanical censorship required by Google of it's 'affiliates'.

Posting on TWO forums ..... hmmm.

I only have time for one.

The poster literally puts an emoji on every single comment.

So far 322 thumb down emojis on this thread. The trolls are busy. Get rid of it AN.

No!

Just get rid of the stupid posters' comments that cause all the thumbs down!

After this emoji was introduced here at AN, I found it appearing in a most surprising, confusing & irrelevant forms.

It would be great if someone with a knowledge of psychology, explain how and why this is so prevalent? Perhaps a misunderstood emoji?

OUTSTANDING. Thanks for your posting. 👍

So many here have discussed this topic in the past.

I reckon it's something to do with a few here have a mental illness.

I've got a few thumbs down emoji stalkers following me. 😂

Adim can see these ill people, but it does not seem to bother them.

I am different to most here, I'm a very happy person but seriously, negative emoji's can be antagonizing for those who have a high IQ

We've tried to rid this disease in the past with our outcry.

Sadly, your loud voice falls on deaf ears. ☹️

You mean a condition related to the Prez of the USA? No wait, you mean inability to distinguish reality? Look at these thumbs down statement:

Sex is immutable.

The US Border is secure thanks to Trump.

Finger will fly to the thumbs down in a rage

OH MY GOD. You sir, are a LEGEND!!!!!!!

Yapping puppy is retired. Frida is here.

Here's an idea - not sure if it's possible for a our webmasters (pun intended) but like all things without limits people use without limit - so how about a quota either by emoji or overall - weekly or monthly once reached no more emojis until the next quota kicks in.

Hopefully then the prolific thumbs downers will value their emojis more 🙈🙊🙈

No need for any of that. The person who racks up the most daily thumbs down on the site actually wears it like a badge of honor. He’s convinced the more thumbs down he gets, the more popular and well liked he is. So no need to change a thing, he’s in his own fantasy world of living in popularity heaven.

He trolls every topic.

I would like to recommend that we have a Middle-Finger Emoji. There would be less confusion over its meaning, and I have the utmost confidence AN members would use it responsibly.

I'd recommend there was only one emoticon: the "+1"  to express full agreement. Anything else would, in a sane world, require a proper post anyhow.

Some posters are so predictable👎:cheesy:

Some discuss topics, post interesting things. Then there's a few losers who can't add anything of value. The irony of sad emojis is lost on them.

Constant criticism, negativity and anger from you. Calling other members losers. When will the negativity from you ever end? It never does.

Try having a lie down for once to help with all that frustration.
