Bought some new toys a couple of weeks ago, a thermal camera and torque screwdriver.

Torque Screwdriver:

I didn't realise how strong tightning a screw to 2Nm was. Now I know. 🙂

Thermal Camera:

Took some pics.

This is my pool/chlorinator contactor.

This is my garage CU.

The breaker second from the left supplies the pool equipment and measures 8A.

The bit I don't understand is the RCB on the right which is switched off.

Is this normal or a problem?

Bought from, brand, cost ...

... don't leave us hanging 🤬 :cheesy:

555 .  Wera torque driver (too expensive, try not to think about it.  B 3000). Camera same as Crossy recommended, plugs into Android phone. Bought on Lazada.

Really need it for SWMBO to see when it's a good time to talk to her or not.

Any idea about the RCB heat signature, that's my main question.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to pick up a torque screwdriver when I am in the US.

I've had it in my Amazon cart for months...

I would check the connections on your pool contactor to see if they are loose. If they are not loose check the current in the wires Thailand likes to use  thin wiring. The other temperatures do not look to be a problem for Thailand.

Two of the best brands in the thermal imaging market are Infiray and Hikmicro.

Their devices range from handheld to weapon mounted.

Their uses range from domestic applications through to wildlife spotting, dogging  and hunting.

Prices range from a couple of hundred  £,€.$.  And upwards.

Footnote,

These devices can be used in bright daylight or in complete darkness.

And a knee replacement?

Yes, good fun. But they f....d up the first one and did it again. More fun.

Too tight, so took out the patellar and shaved 2mm of the tit that tracks for the patella. Fine now.

Now my left ones going.

Don't get old. 🙂

I know the RCB has electronics in it (well I think) but switched off and still the digital signature.

Is this normal is my main question.

I love getting old. I recognized the scar. I had both of mine done about six years ago and they've been perfect.

Unfortunately the only other choice is dead.

Besides being too hunsum to go yet, and I really need to recover more of my tax's from the Australian Government via the pension

Thanks for the advice about not getting old.  40 years too late.  76th birthday coming next month.

Getting minor surgery on my left knee after returning to U.S. of A. in September.  This after it suddenly swelled up, making it difficult to walk on for a couple of weeks when I was in Thailand back in March, this year.

Funny thing is, my right knee is the one that hurts most of the time.

But, back to the thermal camera.    Is it restricted to taking pictures close up or could I stand outside my house (in U.S. of A.) in the winter to find out where I am losing heat the most?

(hmmm?  Edited post, spell check not working in the web browser now?)

Hi, took the camera outside for some pics.

A great selling point by the Fluke rep at a trade show demonstrating thermal cameras was taking pictures of the girls there. Could certainly see hot spots!

Good for checking mood of SWMBO before talking. 🙂
