On 24th July, Thai activist Teh Or Chiwa and nearly 200 locals from Samut Prakan searched a Bang Pu condo for a group of Cambodians who were accused of disrespecting Thailand.

This followed a Facebook post showing the group holding Cambodian flags and planning a visit to Ta Muen Thom Temple on 27th July.

In response, Teh Or Chiwa, also known as Akharawut Buranaphon, incited fellow Thais on social media to confront what he termed as provocation. His post urged a gathering in Bang Pu to address those allegedly ungrateful for Thailand's hospitality.

The mission to locate the group, labelled "Gang without enough water to bathe," was conducted with police and immigration officials monitoring the situation closely to prevent violence. Despite the efforts, the group was not found, presumably having fled upon learning of the planned confrontation.

Police heightened their presence in Samut Prakan to monitor potential gatherings and ensure peace.

People can be divided into two large groups: those who are deceived by their feelings, and those who are deceived by their reason.

Totally uncalled for! Thai´s must understand to not let tension flare and lash out on single individuals because of their county´s bad decisions. Surely, it´s very bad timing from the Cambodians to do such a thing, but not really a big problem. They love their country, as well as Thais love theirs. Using common sense, that would be an easy thing to understand.

The powder keg has been lit, there is no going back at this point, expect this type of thing to get worse.

Totally agree.

20+ years since I visited Cambodia, nigh on a generation ago. They were still trying to find intellectuals after the genocide of the 1970's..

Looks like the crazy folks have found them.

I worked with the Thai Army and Marine Corp...Never the Air Force, but I did see the F-16's flying daily....never heard of one crashing.

That puppy will rain HELL on the Opposing Forces.

Well that's one way to escalate things... start things like this in Thailand and Cambodians may go looking for Thais working in Cambodia.

be careful of your actions.

Nationalism feels powerful and unifying—until it comes face to face with another nationalism. That’s when the real trouble begins. Nationalism, by its very nature, cannot resolve even the smallest territorial dispute with another form of itself. When two national identities claim the same land or legacy, compromise becomes nearly impossible. It takes other ideologies—ones that transcend exclusive identity, like diplomacy, liberalism, or international cooperation—to step in and find a solution.

OMG, I'm agreeing with you..,but expecting Thais to use common-sense, is like mixing water and oil...it won't happen.....please take my comment the way it's meant to be, I know some oils will mix...

The People's Party should run ads on TV displaying Hun Sen embracing Thaksin and his daughter smiling at Hun Sen's Birthday Party bash. Thaksin and Pheu Thai are all but dead at this point, I'm surprised riots aren't happening outside of his mansion.

Sheer acts of idiocy expecting the escalation of  the war without any winners.

Both sides only suffer own lossees  and damages as the conflict prolongs.

There's always a possibility for reason to prevail !! Difficult, but not impossible. Maybe they will realize it when far too many people have died on both sides.

These mobs( of both sides)  have something in common; well outside the artillery range.

Instigating from the complete green zone.

At the expense of those who fear the incoming shells/bombs.

Yes indeed, also dangerous when provoked, stirring up Siamese s..t?

Please note the word Siamese is now being used in the Khmer media. perhaps Yul Bryyner will appear!

the Siamese army launched an attack on the Khloch, Tathav and 333 mountain areas
*At 5:25 a.m., the Siamese army used cluster bombs to attack the Khloch area
*At 5:30 a.m., the Siamese army began attacking the Ta Moan and Takrabei temples.
*At 5:40 a.m., the Siamese army began attacking the Mom 3 area
*At 6:50 a.m., the Siamese army fired a second cluster bomb at Techo Ngom village, Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province.

I hate most forms of Nationalism.

Saying you are proud to be <insert nationality> is stupid unless you've lived in multiple countries and <your country> really is better.
