I am back in the UK having obtained a new UK passport. In my old passport I  have a Thai retirement O visa and multiple entry  permit which are valid until December. I understand these can be transferred but wonder about how this would work I read it has to be done in the office where they were obtained (khon kaen)  So would I have any problems with the airline when checking in at the airport  back to Thailand and  what would happen at Thai immigration  Suvarnabhumi , would they stamp me in the for the remaining days.

No problem.

Present both pp on arriving in Thailand.

Draw attention to reentry permit.

Check io stamp in pp to make sure the stamp is valid till expiry of reentry permit.

At some point  attend KK immigration to have stamps transferred.

Did you obtain the reentry permit at KK

Present both passports at check in, in the UK.
Present both passports on arrival in Thailand, pointing out re-entry permit in old passport.
The IO will stamp you in on the new passport.

Go to your local IO to have stamps transferred to your new passport.

You can then just use the new passport for the future.
