Judges Openly Doubt Government as Justice Dept. Misleads and Dodges Orders

Legal experts say the actions causing concern from the bench could have a more systemic effect, eroding the healthy functioning of the courts.

Aug. 4, 2025

"... in the past several months, as members of President Trump’s Justice Department have repeatedly misled the courts, violated their orders and demonized judges who have ruled against them, some jurists have started to show an angry loss of faith in the people and the institution they once believed in most.

The dissolution of these traditional bonds of trust — known in legal circles as the presumption of regularity — goes well beyond judges’ use of blunt words — “egregious,” “brazen,” “lawless” — to describe the various parts of Mr. Trump’s power-grabbing policy agenda.

...

While it is impossible to know for sure how deeply this distrust has set in among judges across the country, a number of judges in recent weeks have openly questioned the fundamental honesty and credibility of Justice Department lawyers in ways that would have been unthinkable only months ago.

Sounds like you never heard of corrupt judges like Engoron or Merchan and the devastating precedent they set. Busy getting jabbed and boosted no doubt.😅

  • Nobody elected Judge Ho to anyhting and his remarks violate the Judicial Code of Ethics.   By the way, post Judge Hos actual words.

It's "justice" for sale or to achieve partisan political ends in the Trump Justice Department, and Trump's often wild-haired legal positions and schemes leave the Justice Department attorneys struggling to come up with plausible legal arguments to support Trump's views and/or they end up just making false claims to the courts, and judges are noticing!

As per the NYT's report:

"In a sweeping opinion issued in April, Judge Dale E. Ho of Federal District Court in Manhattan rejected as false the reasons the department gave for dismissing bribery charges against Mayor Eric Adams of New York. While Judge Ho ultimately agreed to throw out the charges, he took a swipe at the department’s credibility, saying it appeared as though officials had used their power in a quid pro quo with Mr. Adams to get him to support Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown in the city."

...

“When the government loses credibility, you see it clearly in the reactions of other players in the legal system,” Mr. Richman said."

That sure sounds like a win for the citizens of NYC.  Not so much for the illegals.  Funny how Eric Adams was a Dem hero until he spilt the beans on how much it costs to care for and feed the illegals. ($36,000 a year per head, BTW).  Then suddenly, he was under indictment.

If Dems do it, its protecting Democracy.

If Repubs do it, its lawfare.

Have you noticed a cessation of the January 6 jibes recently? The words coup and traitor and insurrection?

Ohh... no one's forgotten about the Trump-incited Jan. 6 attempted insurrection. There's even a reference to it in the above cited NYT report:

"After all, as the judge pointed out, Justice Department lawyers under Mr. Trump have done much to destroy the confidence normally afforded them in court.

They have fired prosecutors who worked on Mr. Trump’s two criminal cases, he said. They have attacked the charges brought against the rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as a witch hunt. And they have violated judicial orders in cases stemming from Mr. Trump’s deportation policies and from his efforts to freeze federal grants."

You can show no facts to support your claim.

PS, one unelected judge quoted in the Times? Get real LOL

Even busier trying to convince others they were evil if they didn't get jabbed.

Now they had the FBI the DOJ and Trumps lawyers met in the White House today to strategize how to handle trumps decades long close friendship with Jeffery Epstein….just what pray tell happened to equal but separate branches of government?they are collaborating on getting their boss off the hook for that mess….my point being is that absolutely flys in disregard for our constitution and rule of law….we can see very very clearly just who’s shoes are on who’s feet.

But I guess it was okay when Obama and HRC met with the intelligence agencies to figure out how to frame Trump so he'd lose the election...

We can say like this: It looks like the judges are not alone. 55% disapprove in trust for Trump. 41% approve and 4% are not sure. That´s a total loss of 14%. Well done Mr. Trump! The only thing he seem to be good at, is outing himself slowly and painfully. But hey! Out with the popcorn, and let´s watch the show.

What the same ‘universal injunctions’ Republicans frequently used to block Biden’s executive orders?

The nonsense you come up with is getting more bizarre by the day.

You must not be following the news and the congressional inquiries.  Not hard to believe since the most of the MSM isn't reporting it, either.

They've been used against Trump policies more than the rest of the last half dozen administrations combined.

And SCOTUS says they're unconstitutional:

But that isn't stopping activist judges from issuing even more...

You're right. We tend to get overwhelmed by all the attacks on democracy perpetrated by Trump and his band of criminal clowns, so we sometimes forget the biggest treachery in US history:

On Jan 6th, 2021, an insurrection took place, and a mob of traitors descended on the Capitol. The mob was lead by the C in C, who thus committed the worst kind of treason possible.

Due to the GOP turning into spineless maggots the chief traitor has never been brought to justice, and for the ultimate treasonous acts he committed only execution by a military firing squad is appropriate.

The biggest attacks on US democracy was first choosing a presidential candidate with dementia, then following up with a female presidential candidate that even her own party didn't want.

Really? Worse than trying to subvert the will of the people and try to cling on to power, thereby going against the constitution every POTUS swears to protect and sending a mob to the Capitol to scare the lawmakers into submission.

Worse than that??
