An Operating Manual for Understanding the Thai Mind

My takeaway is....Thai's run redlights because they have no respect for the laws and road rules. They are on a mission and need to be somewhere within the next few minutes to hours, and the easiest and fastest way to get there is to be flexible and run the redlight. That sort of thinking will get you and others killed, and that's why Thailand is the most dangerous country in the world in which to drive. Sheer insane ideology!

My advice as to how newcomers should best operate in Thailand is stay calm, and be careful with your money.

Neither me. I've been living here since 2003, married, speak, read and write in Thai.

There are good points in your post, but why keep it simple when it's possible to make it more complicated.

It's an attempt to give a systematic, theoretical approach to simple common sense.

For those who want to avoid making mistakes while in Thailand, simply google Dos and Don'ts in Thailand and there are plenty of websites that will provide some basic information.
