90 day reporting - when is the 90 days counted from??

Featured Replies

My last arrival in Thailand was 28th May - 90 days from then is around 26th August

My visa agent in Pattaya did my annual renewal of "retirement visa" on 20th June

Does the 90 days to do my next reporting start from 28th May or 20th June??

(Hope that made sense)

Your 90 report is due 89 days from entry to Thailand.

Your annual extensions have nothing to do with 90 day report.

Why are you not using same agent for next 90 report?

First 90 report from reentry needs to be done in person or via agent?

Your starting date is May 28, 2025 so that means that 89 days later would be August 25, 2025.

Go visit agent.

Perfect, thanks.

My understanding was also that the annual extension date in the middle was not relevant to the 90 day reporting

And if I report late, even by a day, it is 2000 baht per day fine, right?

If you report late the fine is 2k (fixed)

It doesn't accrue daily like eg overstay fine.

Keep in mind for in person report there is a grace period of 7 days after due date where you should not be fined.

Just check they didn't do your 90 day when the agent did your extension. Look at the slip in your passport.

For some kind reason Chaiyaphum always do my 90 day at the same time as my extension.......which usually extends my 90 days.....only once a year, but every little bit helps.

Some office do the 90 report (as a service) when you do an annual extension.

In fact the two are unrelated.

Yes.......that was why it's always surprised me that they bother......having said that they don't give me a new slip, he just scribbles the new date and stamps it.......but I assume he still has to update their system.

I had not thought of that.

What does this "slip" look like? I don't see any stamps from immigration on the pages of my passport saying anything like "90 day report on xxx date"......only the 'extension of stay' and 're-entry permit' stamps.

I also have a possible trip to the UK on 2 Sep (not confirmed yet). My agent is saying I don't need to do the 90 day reporting before that flight...... hence my questions

Sept 2 is beyond your due date so technically you should report.

What the agent means is that there is no checking of 90 report when exiting Thailand.

Reentry will again restart the count clock.

slightly off topic, but as you probably know if you do your 90 day report earlier than the actual date on your slip, then they count the 90 days from that date, not the date on the slip, as it would take you over 90 days. If you do it later than the date on your slip it will be 90 days (or less) after the date on the slip.

And that means you could do the report on any working day from next Monday (18).

August 14 would have been the first day you could have done the report.

His reporting window would open 2 weeks prior to Aug 25.

I was not advising on that.

My post was to explain how due date is determined.

Mine is a slip of paper they staple in...usually close to the last page.

Easiest - but it takes a bit of effort of adjustment over time - is to have the 2 dates (90-days & visa renewal) to more or less coincide.

This year my next 90-day report is due on 26 Oct and my retirement O/A annual renewal is due by 30 Oct. So I'll schedule my visit to the Surin Immigration people in between those 2 dates.
