A man has been arrested after fatally stabbing a colleague multiple times in a violent incident at a factory in Chiang Rai province.

Police were called to an agricultural processing factory in Ban Rong Nod, Wiang Ka Long Subdistrict, Wiang Pa Pao District, following reports of a stabbing. The victim, identified as 40-year-old Niao Lin, a Myanmar national, was found with around 20 stab wounds to his chest, head and back. The scene was reportedly covered in blood. His body was sent to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The suspect, 20-year-old Pae Pyao Aung, also a Myanmar national, was apprehended at the scene. Authorities recovered the weapon used, a folding knife measuring approximately 25 cm from tip to handle.

Initial inquiries suggest that the victim and suspect had a history of frequent disputes. Police believe the latest altercation escalated, prompting the suspect to lose control and repeatedly stab his colleague.

Officials from Mae Jedee Police Station are continuing to investigate, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, while legal proceedings against the suspect are underway.
